It looks like retail version of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will require a day-1 patch adding an additional feature to the game. The patch adds a new mode to online play called Conquest mode, which occasionally will trigger during a game and adds additional weight to the result of said match. Winning will add points to a tally that certain characters, and at the end of a certain period those points will be tallied and players associated with the winning character receive a prize.

Capcom has announced the Monster Hunter 4 Collector’s Edition, which will be available for the game’s launch next year.

The package contains a copy of the game, Gore Magala figure, Felyne wearing Gore Magala armor pin, monster icon lanyard, cleaning cloth, and supply item box.

Pricing for the collector’s edition is set at $59.99. You can pre-order the package here.

The 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. has a special mode called Smash Run. It does support local play, but the mode doesn’t work online.

That confirmation comes straight from Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai. While Japanese magazine Famitsu recently indicated that Smash Run can be experienced over the Internet, Sakurai told one fan on Twitter that this was a mistake.
