Rumor: Nintendo now enforcing 1 amiibo character per customer rule in the UK
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 9 Comments
The amiibo situation has been out of control almost since launch. Nintendo hasn’t been shipping enough figures for a number of characters, and scalpers have been taking advantage of the situation to drive up the prices on sites like eBay.
Based on a rumored internal email stemming from GAME, it seems that Nintendo is starting to crack down on things. Apparently, Nintendo UK has sent new rules to major retailers, and the company is now actively enforcing the 1 amiibo per customer rule forcibly. That means consumers are only able to purchase one unit of each character. It’s all being done in attempt to cut down on the reselling market.
I haven’t seen the email myself, but this information comes from the trustworthy information-leaker Liam Robertson. Assuming it’s true, it’s nice to see Nintendo finally looking to address some of amiibo’s issues.
Rumor: Next Skylanders game to feature vehicles
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 5 Comments
A new Skylanders game is coming at some point this year. Much of the project has been shrouded in mystery, but the company did say back in February that it will be “innovative”. While Activision has been keeping quiet for the most part, we appear to have an important detail about what’s new in the latest Skylanders entry.
Liam Robertson, who tends to be in the know when it comes to cancelled games and titles that are in development, wrote on Twitter today that this year’s Sklanders will feature vehicles. Robertson also said that the game is planned for all major gaming platforms, which should (unsurprisingly) include Wii U.
Activision has typically announced its Skylanders games in the spring, but this one still hasn’t been officially revealed. Perhaps we’ll hear something at E3?

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter getting Wii U stretch goal at $3 million?
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 31 Comments
When Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was announced, it came with the disappointing news that the project wasn’t planned – at least initially – for Nintendo platforms. However, a notice on the Kickstarter page gave a small hint/hope that something such as a Wii U version could be possible if funds reached a certain amount.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been reaching stretch goals regularly on Kickstarter, and one of the latest updates suggests that a Wii U edition could be in the cards. Fans have been analyzing the new stretch goal image (shown above), which seems to show the top of the Wii U logo at $3 million. That’s not confirmed, but it appears to be the general consensus at the moment.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has raised almost $2.5 million on Kickstarter. If what people are speculating turns out to be accurate, then that means only $500,000 extra would be needed for a Wii U version.

Rumor: Tara Platt would have voiced Aero in Mega Man Legends 3
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 1 Comment
Capcom pulled the plug on Mega Man Legends 3 a few years ago, but we’re just now starting to learn who would have voiced Aero in the game.
In an old interview posted to the Mega Man Legends 3 Devroom, it was revealed that Aero’s voice actress grew up without a TV. It was also stated that this person worked on a game with Mega Man characters a year before the interview.
This information suggests that Tara Platt was behind the voice of Aero. Not only had Platt voiced Tron Bonne in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but an interview recently discovered on YouTube has her stating that she did not have a television set growing up.
Platt has plenty of voice acting experience. Her previous roles include Temari in Naruto, Reina in Rave Master, Noir in Tales of the Abyss, and Mitsuru Kirijo in Persona 3.

Rumor: USK causing eShop publishers to drop releases in Germany, indies struggling with sales
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, Rumors, Wii U eShop | 8 Comments
A new report from Nintendo Life paints a concerning picture about the state of indies in Germany. The site claims that “over the past months there have been secret European developer meetings to discuss the current state of the eShop.” The big takeaway is that “larger download publishers are starting to drop Germany because they are not able to recoup the cost of earning a USK rating”.
Unfortunately, that isn’t all. The article also mentions that many indies are facing issues selling 3,000 copies of their game o nthe eShop. Because of this, “many are dropping support for Nintendo’s consoles.”
Rumor: Meta Knight amiibo back in Best Buy stores on May 29
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 0 comments
Rumors have been circulating about a restock of the Meta Knight amiibo at Best Buy, and Nintendo confirmed last week that the character would be restocked along with other figures “over the next few days”. Now we may know when that will be taking place.
Best Buy is rumored to be obtaining new Meta Knight amiibo shipments on May 20. However, it won’t be until May 29 until new units begins to appear in stores.
May 29 is certainly turning out to be a big day for amiibo given the release of new Smash Bros. and Splatoon figures. Let’s not forget about silver Mario as well!
Rumor: Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX delayed to August in Europe
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 6 Comments
SEGA originally announced that Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX would be launching towards the end of May in both North America and Europe. In the latter region, it appears that the game has been delayed a few months.
Numerous signs are pointing to an August launch for Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX in Europe. Koch Media, a company that handles the distribution of various SEGA titles in Europe, mentioned the new release month on a couple of its Twitter accounts while interacting with fans. Amazon Spain and Amazon Germany are both listing an August 14 release date as well. Separately from those concrete pieces of information, NextN has heard from its own sources that Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX is now due out in Europe this August.
SEGA technically hasn’t officially announced a European delay, so we’ll mark this one as a rumor to be safe. It’s not looking good though!

Rumor: Target’s inventory for new Smash Bros. amiibo, Splatoon, silver Mario, Marth restock
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 4 Comments
The moderation team over on Reddit has posted unconfirmed figures for Target’s inventory of upcoming amiibo. Supposedly, the information was obtained from a trusted source, and indicates how much stock the retailer has for figures like the upcoming Smash Bros. and Splatoon figures.
As expected, Lucina and Robin will end up being the toughest to find. Marth’s restock also seems to be rather small, although that also isn’t a major surprise.
Rumor: Intelligent Systems tells job expo attendees that Paper Mario is coming to Wii U
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 18 Comments
We’re hearing an interesting rumor about Paper Mario potentially coming to Wii U via Japanese forum 2ch.
Just recently, Intelligent Systems attended a job expo in Japan. A few folks who showed up for the event relayed this information on 2ch, along with speculation about a new Paper Mario. Representatives from the company were apparently stating that this is something that’s happening.
If nothing else, it does look like Intelligent Systems attended that job expo. The studio was handing out pamphlets/paperwork (posted on 2ch), which does suggest that part of the rumor is true.
Thanks to Kev for the tip.

Update: Target inaccurate, Amazon pre-order info – Rumor: Target stores to have pretty decent amount of Jigglypuff amiibo
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 2 Comments
Update (5/6): It’s unfortunately looking like numbers going around for Target’s amiibo stock are inaccurate. There’s a much more in-depth explanation on Reddit, but anything you heard yesterday was incorrect. We may see half of what was originally reported (ex: a store getting 16 units instead of 32), but even that isn’t confirmed.
In brighter news, it sounds like Amazon wants to get things right with upcoming pre-orders. Figures will be limited to one per customer, and reservations will be going live “during normal business hours (pacific time)”.
Did you miss out on Target’s incredibly brief online pre-order periods for the Jigglypuff amiibo? Well, we may have some good news for you!
It’s not officially confirmed, but one Reddit user has started informing users on the site about in-store inventory for Jigglypuff. This person’s own store is on track to have 24 units (along with 4 for Robin, 4 for Lucina, 12 silver Marios, 12 for Pac-Man, 8 for Charizard, 8 for Wario, and 4 of each Splatoon figure). Most locations seem to be getting anywhere from 12 to 32 units.
Numbers will vary by store, but Jigglypuff is definitely looking like it will be one of the more well-stocked amiibo at Target. That’s surely a good thing given how this figure will only be sold at Target in the United States.
