Note: Mastiff says the video is a bit stretched and mottled from the original capture. When playing on 3DS, the gameplay should be crisper.

Nintendo shared a new Japanese video today promoting Miitomo in Japan. We’ve gone ahead and posted it below.

Continuing the insanity that is Pokemon GO, a stampede formed in New York’s Central Park last night when players came across Vaporeon. This isn’t the easiest creature to catch, so when it was detected at around 11 PM, the crowd went into a frenzy.


Again, we’re not going to be posting too many off-beat news posts stemming from Pokemon GO, but things like this are tough to resist. It’s just crazy seeing the types of things happening!

SnowCastle Games has finally finished work on Earthlock: Festival of Magic. The initial release will be taking place in September, with the Wii U version following “as soon as possible after that”.

Evo 2016 is about to begin. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Smash Bros. Melee, and Pokken Tournament will all be represented at the tournament. Head past the break to watch the first day of matches as they happen.

Earlier this week, it was rumored that someone had found a U.S. version of the 64DD peripheral for the Nintendo 64. Jason Lindsey, who came across the item, has now posted a video explaining how he found it, which looks to be a prototype. Lindsey even shows the 64DD running by initiating the boot sequence. The whole video is quite interesting, so we definitely recommend you give it a watch!

Power Disc Slam was revealed for 3DS towards the end of 2015, with plans to have it out early this year. Although that didn’t happen, the game remains in the works. Here’s a new trailer showing Chequered Cow Games’ progress:
