Bandai Namco issued the North American boxart for Project X Zone 2 today. We’ve attached it above.

SEGA is bringing two of its 3DS hardware themes to North America today. The themes based on Game Gear and Genesis should be out in just over an hour.

This doesn’t come as a major surprise, but we now have confirmation that all of the hardware themes are coming west “in the coming months.” Here’s the release order for North America:

Sega Master System
Sega Mark III
Sega Saturn
Hi-Tech Sega (80s style Japanese arcade machine)
Sega SG-1000
Sega Dreamcast

We haven’t heard anything about Europe yet, but I’d be shocked if these themes don’t make it over there.

It seems like Nintendo is planning something similar to Splatoon’s Global Testfire for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. A few hours ago, some people who have a Japanese Nintendo Network ID received an e-mail from Nintendo containing three download codes for a special Tri Force Heroes demo. Those lucky enough to be selected can share those codes with two of their friends and play online together a specific times. The demo will be online at the following times:

  • 10/10 23:00 – 24:00
  • 10/11 10:00 – 11:00
  • 10/17 23:00 – 24:00
  • 10/18 10:00 – 11:00

We will keep you updated on further development, including a possible demo for European and North American audiences.

Earlier this year when The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D came out, Nintendo released several videos of series producer Eiji Aonuma playing the game and showcasing several aspects of it. Now they’re doing the same with Tri Force Heroes. Check out the video below (in Japanese, obviously):

As we reported earlier this week, the 1.1.2 update for Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS fixes a glitch regarding Diddy that was introduced in the 1.1.1 update. The newest patch is now available for download. At 21 MB it’s fairly small, so the download shouldn’t take too long.

Nintendo has now uploaded an official video for the Chibi-Robo! 3DS theme. This arrived in Japan today, and it should be out soon in the west. Check out the video below.

Last week, the Japanese Hyrule Warriors Twitter account teased news about the upcoming 3DS game. Famitsu followed through by revealing a couple of new characters. We now know that Skull Kid will be playable, and Phantom Ganon will be appearing as a boss.

The mischievous imp Skull Kid uses an ocarina as his main tool. Famitsu describes him as a demon who stole the hero’s ocarina from a parallel world and then placed the curse of the mask upon him. He may be violent and love pranks, but deep in his heart he treasures his friends. Using the ocarina, he fights alongside fairies.

Capcom sent out another batch of screenshots from Monster Hunter X today. We’re able to see the latest hunting styles as well as the newest monsters. Check out the various images in the gallery below.
