Firegirl: Hack 'n Splash Rescue DX

Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX has secured a final release date on Switch. The roguelite indie firefighter will be available on June 22, publisher Thunderful and developer Dejima have announced. It was originally planned for last December, though the title was pushed back across all consoles.

For those that have been keeping up with the game, you may notice that the “DX” part of the title is new. That’s because Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue will launch on Switch as a new and improved version following its PC debut last year.

Following its surprise release yesterday, some new gameplay has come in for 2D survival action game Lost Ruins. About 15 minutes of footage are available.

iOS 16 was unveiled at the Appleā€™s Worldwide Developers Conference 2022 today, and it turns out that there’s actually some Switch-related news. It turns out that the OS actually has native support for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and even the Joy-Con. That means these controllers can technically be used with any Apple device that supports iOS 16.

The news about the Switch functionality comes from Riley Testut, a developer that has worked on the emulator Delta. Not only can a single Joy-Con be supported, but both together as well. It’s even possible to dynamically switch between using the Joy-Cons individually or as one combined controller by holding the screenshot capture and home buttons for a few seconds.

Spike Chunsoft has shared details about four more characters in AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative – specifically Tokiko, Chikara, Lien, and the Masked Woman.

Nintendo Switch Online members can now spend their My Nintendo points on icons based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The designs will be refreshed on a weekly basis. The first wave, available until June 13, features Link in various poses plus other characters, backgrounds, and frames. Each one costs 5 or 10 Platinum Points via My Nintendo, and a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required in order to redeem them.

Capcom Showcase

Capcom will broadcast a new digital event titled Capcom Showcase on June 13, 2022, the company just announced.

The event will cover “news and in-depth updates” regarding previously announced games. It’s expected to last about 35 minutes long.

Deathwish Enforcers

Monster Bath Games, the developer of Battle Princess Madelyn, today announced Deathwish Enforcers. The side-scrolling action game is in development for Switch, but there’s currently no word on a release window.
