This week’s Switch eShop charts are as follows:

More:

Nintendogs

Nintendogs is one of Nintendo’s most successful DS games having sold over 20 million units. The journey to get there wasn’t easy though. Even within Nintendo’s internally, there were doubts as to whether the game would actually succeed.

David Yarnton, former Nintendo UK general manager, told GamesIndustry that “a lot of the hardcore gamers in our team poo-pooed it.” Once they got some hands-on time though, it didn’t take long for them to be “converted”.

Yarnton said:

Sakurai Minecraft

In his 651st column for Famitsu, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai discussed the new DLC for Minecraft’s Steve. Sakurai apparently had several challenges with implementing the fighter – despite the popularity of the character, he did not want Steve to be a watered-down addition to the roster. Though he kept it vague, Sakurai also stated the music for Minecraft gave the team quite the headache.

The Game Bakers dated Haven for December 3 on most platforms this week. Unfortunately though, the Switch version has been delayed. Players on Nintendo’s console won’t be able to experience the RPG until the start of next year.

The Game Bakers co-founder and executive producer Audrey Leprince spoke with TechRaptor about the delay. Although the initial plan was to have all versions ready at the same time, the team encountered “unexpected challenges” from the coronavirus pandemic.

Pretty Princess Party

After it originally debuted in Japan, Aksys Games is localizing Pretty Princess Party for the western market. Have a look at a new trailer below.

Pretty Princess Party is planned for December 3 in North America and Europe.

Control

Control wouldn’t be possible on Switch without cloud streaming technology, according to Remedy Entertainment communications director Thomas Puha.

Puha told Nintendo Life that the team did “some due diligence on what it would take to produce a Switch port with an external partner, but deemed it not possible for a variety of reasons.” There were a number of factors at play, including technical, finance, and personnel roadblocks.

Puha explained:

Angry Video Game Nerd 1 & 2 Deluxe has landed on Switch, and we have a launch trailer to celebrate. Check out the video below.
