Super Mario Sunshine

In an interview with The Guardian, a couple of top developers at Nintendo reflected on how their past experiences impacted entries in the Mario series.

Yoshiaki Koizumi, who has directed 3D Mario games starting with Super Mario 64, says Super Mario Sunshine was influenced by his childhood. He mentioned wanting to “recreate the experience of a hero jumping from rooftop to rooftop like those heroes” and “playing in water and enjoying the coolness on my skin.”

Walmart

Walmart’s Black Friday 2020 ad has leaked, revealing a number of deals the retailer has planned for later this month. There are several highlights for Switch owners including a number of Nintendo-published titles for $30, BioShock: The Collection, and more.

Next week, Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead will be releasing on Switch. Take a look at some footage in the video below.

Professor Lupo: Ocean

Professor Lupo: Ocean is a step closer to its release on Switch. This week, developer BeautiFun Games announced that the 2D puzzle adventure game is slated for late December. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase a bundle containing the game’s predecessor, Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets.

Professor Lupo: Ocean will cost $4.99 / €3.99 / £3.99 on the Switch eShop. The bundle with Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets will cost $15.99 / €15.99 / £15.99.

Cake Bash

Cake Bash, a frantic four player party game, is lined up for release on Switch next week. Have a look at some early footage in the video below.

Monster Hunter Rise

In a recent interview with Nikkei, Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto shared some tidbits about the upcoming Switch title Monster Hunter Rise. He spoke about how the coronavirus pandemic set development of the game back almost a month, discussed some of the game’s new elements, and how the company expects the title to sell.

Super Mario 64

Nintendo fans that have kept up with the history of Mario know that at one point, Luigi was going to be playable in Super Mario 64. The team originally hoped to make multiplayer possible, but it just wasn’t technically feasible in the end.

Shigeru Miyamoto opened up a bit about Super Mario 64’s development in an interview with The Guardian. Regarding limitations the team faced, Miyamoto said:
