Animal Crossing: New Horizons

This week’s Switch eShop charts are as follows:

More:

In an interview with Nintendo Everything, director Hiroaki Matsui spoke about how long it’ll take players to finish the game and also shared details regarding difficulty modes.

Matsui estimates that it’ll take roughly ten hours to complete on the normal difficulty level, which is known as “Samurai”. But he also teased that players “won’t be able to unlock sufficient amount of collectable items and skills with that difficulty, so I want them to play the game more and more and challenge higher difficulty levels as well.” Higher difficulty modes are included under the names “Master Samurai” and “Master of Masters”, which “require guts to play with”.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been a success having sold over one million copies as a brand new IP. Although we don’t have a breakdown of sales by platform, there’s no question that the Switch version largely contributed to that number.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, creator Koji Igarashi revealed that Bloodstained had the biggest response on Switch. It also sold “well above our expectations” even though it came out on the console a week after other systems.

Here’s our translation of the excerpt between Famitsu and Igarashi:

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have prepared a trailer for the latest summoning event in Fire Emblem Heroes known as A New Future. We have it below.

Metroid Prime 4

Retro Studios is continuing to expand the team as it develops Metroid Prime 4. Today, the company posted a notice on Twitter regarding an open position for a lead producer. This person would be responsible for maintaining project timelines and forecasting products in development, studio-wide communication of project status, and more.

Outside of the lead producer role, Retro Studios has a number of other open positions related to graphics, design, art, and more. You can see the various listings here.

Metroid Prime 4 was first announced at E3 2017. In January 2019, Nintendo announced that it would be restarting the entire game’s development, with Retro Studios taking over all work.

Shakedown: Hawaii will arrive for Wii U on August 20, Vblank Entertainment has announced. It will be sold both physically and digitally.

For the boxed release, two versions will be sold. A standard edition is planned for $24.99, along with a special edition for $29.99. The special edition has a digital soundtrack and protective case with alternate cover art as extra goodies. Each physical version is limited to 3,000 copies.

Here’s some additional information about the Wii U release:

Prinny 1•2: Exploded and Reloaded

NIS America will be releasing Prinny 1-2: Exploded and Reloaded on Switch in a couple of months. As the name implies, it comes with a couple of games: Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? and Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! While NIS America is planning a physical version, things will be a bit different on the eShop.

Those who plan on picking up the Prinny games digitally will be interested to know that the two titles will be sold individually, which is helpful if you’re only interested in one of them specifically. They’re priced at $19.99 each, so you won’t necessarily be forced to spend $40.

Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? takes up 826MB of space. Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! comes in at 1.2GB.
