It’s now been confirmed that Mythwalk Studios will be putting Dewborne Dawn on Switch once the project wraps up development. The team has been seeking funding on Kickstarter, and after just reaching the $50,000 goal, everything is moving forward.
Dewborne Dawn is billed as a hand-drawn Metroidvania game in which players take on the role of Dew, a mystical creature wielding a divine blade which has the rare ability to cleanse a plague. Mythwalk is taking inspiration from a number of titles and series, including Hollow Knight, Sekiro, Dust: An Elysian Tail, and the Legend of Zelda.

[Preview] Hands-on with Resistor, an ambitious racing RPG
Posted on 1 year ago by Nicholas Serpa in Previews, Switch | 0 comments
It feels like racing games are often excused from needing to tell stories; even as players, we’ve been trained to expect little more from the genre than schlocky tales of midnight street racing, if there’s even any context to the action at all. That can be just fine as many players only care about the feel of the driving, but there’s so much potential for fresh ideas. That’s why I’m curious about Resistor, an upcoming racing RPG whose lead developer, Violet McVinnie, previously worked on cinematics and narrative for titles like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. There’s a lot of potential for Resistor to be something unique, and while my brief demo only let me preview a small slice of the game, I’m hopeful it will prove that racing games can indeed tell deeper stories than they typically do.

Where to find Raging Bolt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Posted on 1 year ago by Ethan in Guides, Switch | 0 comments
Wondering where to find Raging Bolt as part of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s The Indigo Disk DLC? We’ve got you covered there.
Raging Bolt is a past paradox form of Raikou, and it’s brand new to the DLC. Whereas Raikou is a pure Electric-type Pokemon, Raging Bolt is an Electric/Dragon-type modeled after a dinosaur. Walking Wake, a fellow member of its trio, was already available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s base game via a limited-time Tera Raid Battle event. That’s not the case for Raging Bolt, however – as long as you’re playing Pokemon Scarlet (the game it’s exclusive to), you’ll be able to catch it for yourself with no time limit.

Falcom president on graphics criticism and Ys X: Nordics sales
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Falcom recently held a financial results briefing, and during the event, one investor had some criticism for the graphics in Ys X: Nordics. President Toshihiro Kondo responded with some interesting comments.
Kondo mentioned that Falcom is giving consideration to the graphics in its games, but the main issue seems to be time. With the company looking to put out at least one new game each year – whether it’s Ys, The Legend of Heroes, or something else – maximizing visuals isn’t an easy task. Falcom is also putting out new titles with under 100 employees.
Here’s our full translation of the exchange (originally relayed by X user michsuzu in Japanese)
