Joy-Con Charging Stand (two-way)

July 17: Nintendo just announced that it will be shipping a new Switch Joy-Con charging stand in Japan towards the end of the year. It will be available on October 17, 2024.

The stand supports charging in two different ways. You can either prop up the controllers on the stand or remove the stand and lay them down. Essentially, the product lets users charge their controllers without needing them to be directly attached to the Switch unit.

Gimmick 2

June 20: The Gimmick franchise is back on Switch with the newly-announced Gimmick 2.

There’s not much to go on currently as only a teaser trailer was shown. The game acts as a sequel to Sunsoft’s NES original, and players can expect puzzle solving, exploration in a physics-based playground, and more.

Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition

The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

GSD data provides a look at the best-selling games across Europe in June 2024 as well as the first half of 2024. It’s based on data for all physical game releases in major markets plus digital game sales from most major publishers.

For June specifically, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD charted the highest out of new releases at #7, and that’s without digital data considered. Believe it or not, it was only 4,000 copies away from becoming the fastest-selling Switch game this year. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door still holds that record. Note that Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD sold just under a third of what Luigi’s Mansion 3 achieved during its opening week in 2019.

June 26: Nintendo Switch Online is celebrating another new game release, and this time around, members can get their hands on new designs based on Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.

Just as we’re used to seeing, you can pick up characters, backgrounds, and frames. There’s the normal cost of 10 Platinum Points via My Nintendo for characters. Backgrounds and frames are 5 Platinum Points each.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition update 1.1.0

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is already available depending on your region, and with it, a day one version 1.1.0 update is also live.

You’ll want to grab this one as the patch adds Survival Mode. On top of that, several bug fixes are included as well.

No Man's Sky Worlds Part I update 5.0

No Man’s Sky just unveiled “Worlds Part I” as a big update for the game. This is also known as version 5.0 and it should be rolling out on Switch soon.

According to Hello Games, the update features “an entire universe refresh, bringing huge leaps in water and cloud quality”. That’s on top of increased planetary variety, new gameplay features, and more.

Emio The Smiling Man Famicom Detective Club

Nintendo just announced Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, which is coming to Switch. The game launches on August 29, 2024.

Last week, the company put out a brief video for something called “Emio”. Since then, there’s been plenty of speculation as to what Nintendo was teasing. Emio: The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is now revealed, and it’s the first new Famicom Detective Club story in 35 years.
