Wii U eShop

A fairly substantial update is coming to ZaciSa’s Last Stand on Monday. The patch will make several improvements/changes, address bugs, and bring along new content.

Here’s a comprehensive overview of the update straight from ZeNfA Productions:

New Content

New Map: Twin Souls
Similar to the map Cir’ce Station, this map features two small bases circling each other eternally. If either base is destroyed, this process balance will be destroyed causing the other base to stop in it’s track and it’s ring to slow down. Due to the fast nature of the enemy, this map features the largest starting money of $1500 to get you started.

New Map: Asteroid Mining Station 2
Unlike the map above, this map is simple in comparison. However it does feature four bases this time for you to protect and each of the four corners. Will you protect all four at once or will you sacrifice the rest to save and protect one? Starting money for this map is $800.

New Background Graphics: Nebula Ka’tlTa
This map has had it’s background graphics updated to make the map look and feel more like a Nebula might look and feel. The new background is also animated and features the ability to turn off this animated background and keep it still.

According to a post on neogaf thread from Imageform, a cross-buy promotion has finally been announced.

“It’s been quite a bit of back and forth regarding the cross-buy for SteamWorld Dig, that is, getting a discount for the Wii U version if you already own the 3DS version. We’re pleased to reveal that NOE has been able to implement this today. Everyone in the EU, AUS and NZ who owns SteamWorld Dig for 3DS will get a 25% discount when getting SteamWorld Dig for Wii U. ”

XType Plus is out now on the Wii U eShop, but PhobosLab isn’t done with the game.

In a Reddit AMA held last week, the developer said that an update is planned, and it will add off-TV play. Co-op is also likely to be come through a patch.

Here’s PhobosLab’s full response when asked about the possibility of co-op being added in the future:

Franky, It’s my first game on a console and I wanted to test the waters first. I didn’t want to develop something for a long time that nobody would be playing in the end.

Reception has been great so far. I’m planing an update and a co-op mode is pretty high on my todo list, along off-tv play. So: yes

Wii U owners can expect more support from Zen Studios in the future. The company announced that three more tables will be coming to the console next week, and fans can look out for even more content going forward.

Zen Studios’ Mel Kirk told Nintendo Life:

Yes, we are aiming for Wii U parity in the future with updates and new tables. Additionally, KickBeat Special Edition will be released on Wii U in line with other releases on other consoles.

Zen is committed to continuing support of the Wii U eShop in the future. We are really encouraged by the amazing games coming to the platform and we think there will be a boost in Wii U sales that will hopefully translate to players coming to the eShop to discover games. I think Zen might have the most Wii U eShop releases, so we hope players enjoy our games!

Zen Studios has made a few titles for 3DS as well, though the platform isn’t as likely to be supported in the future, which Kirk explained:

At this time we do not have any 3DS plans to share. Our type of game system does not mesh very well with 3DS, so it has been tough to support add-on content. However, the game does play amazing on the 3DS, and I especially love it on the XL.
