Wii U

Update: The paragraph containing the amiibo info has been removed from the product listing. Looks like Nintendo gave Amazon a slap on the wrist.

The HD remake of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be out in less than two months, however we still don’t know a lot about this version’s new features. A product listing on Amazon France may have just revealed some new details though.

Most importantly, the product listing sheds some light on the game’s amiibo features. Scanning any amiibo from the Legend of Zelda series will allow you to replenish your hearts, arrows and presumably other consumables. Scanning the Wolf Link amiibo, however, unlocks a new dungeon called “The Twilight Cave” – and remember, data recorded on that amiibo can be transferred over to the new Legend of Zelda game on Wii U.

Hero Mode, by now somewhat of a staple of the series, will also be back. You don’t have to unlock it this time – it can be selected right from the start.

Just like in Wind Waker HD, you can also access your inventory directly through the Gamepad’s touch screen, allowing you to select items without pausing the game.

Although product listings on Amazon have traditionally been a pretty reliable source of info, I would still advise you not to take this as 100% confirmed.

A new video uploaded by Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube page reveals that a Daisy costume is on the way to Super Mario Maker. Here’s the trailer in question:

I’m not seeing any new Event Courses (aside from today’s “Cooooo!” level), so Daisy doesn’t appear to be available just yet. We’ll let you know when that changes!

Twitter user Random Talking Bush has been poking around the files of Yoshi’s Woolly World, and in doing so, has managed to come across some interesting content. Quite a bit of what was found seems to be from the early days of development – back when it was going by the tentative Yarn Yoshi name. We see the original Yoshi design, unused texture, and plenty more.

Here’s a look at the various images Random Talking Bush posted on Twitter:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will feature some changes from the original game. For instance, thanks to a screenshot provided in this week’s Famitsu, we know that you won’t have to collect as many Tears of Light in Lanayru Province. Another change has been spotted as well.

In the image above, we see that Link is holding 2,000 Rupees. That’s actually double the maximum in the original game (1,000). Might the Giant Wallet hold a greater capacity, or will there be a new one introduced in the remake?

A few hours ago, the Cooooo!” Event Course was added to Super Mario Maker. This nets players with the Yamamura costume upon completion. Check out some footage of the level below.

As many of you know, this week’s issue of Famitsu has a feature on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. While there are new screenshots, the magazine itself doesn’t share any new details. But there is one interesting and noteworthy change that can be found in one of the images featured in the article.

Above is a photo from the new HD version. Can you spot anything different? Well, it seems there are fewer Tears of Light needed to be collected in Lanayru Province. The original Wii and GameCube versions had 16, but this version only appears to ask for 12. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this change extended to Faron Province and Eldin Province as well – we’ll just have to wait and see!

Update 2: Not mentioned in the article specifically, but a Tears of Light change has been spotted in one of the images. See this post.

Update: Having gone through the Twilight Princess HD pages, it seems that it doesn’t talk about new features. Instead it re-introduces the whole game – story, Link’s abilities, etc. Famitsu only mentions that everything is redrawn in full HD… so pretty much nothing new. Enjoy the screenshots though!

This week’s Famitsu scans are now available. Highlighted games include Hyrule Warriors Legends, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (3DS), Monster Hunter Stories, Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages, and Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Scans of each title can be found in the gallery below.
