The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has very few restrictions. Even in the opening section, you have a huge area to explore – that being The Great Plateau.

The only limitation is that you need to complete a few tasks before leaving The Great Plateau. Once that’s done, you’ll be given Link’s trusty paraglider. It’s then that you’re free to leave and explore Hyrule to its fullest.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Not every idea made it into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. For instance, Nintendo considered including tiny people as well as the Hookshot and Beetle items.

Art director Satoru Takizawa and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi revealed another cut idea while speaking with GameSpot. At one point, players would be able to stab their weapon into a wall. Doing so would let Link recover stamina.

Midway through development, the team decided against including the mechanic. This was in large part due to feedback from Shigeru Miyamoto, who essentially vetoed the idea due to it being illogical. The developers thought about stabbing weapons into cracks or crevices, though that wouldn’t work either since you’d be limited in where it could be done.

Takizawa and Fujibayashi said:

One mini-game in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild tasks players with gliding as far as they can. With players coming up with interesting ways of flying, what happens if you end up at Hyrule Castle for the showdown with Calamity Ganon?

Digital Foundry has a new comparison video up for LEGO City Undercover. We’re able to get a better look as to how the Switch version compares to the PlayStation 4 and original Wii U releases.

If you’re looking at how LEGO City Undercover has changed since the four years it came to Wii U, the game now features a redone lighting system along with upgrades to the effects pipeline, the quality of the shaders, the detail in the core art assets and normal maps, and more.

A very neat ad for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been found in New York. The street art, apparently located specifically in Brooklyn, leaves an ever bigger impression at night. When the sun sets, the painting comes to life even more and really leaves an impact.

Update 2: This is something we’re less certain about, but Wolf Link is apparently “fixed” as well. We’re not entirely sure how widespread this was, but Wolf Life was sometimes summoned with full hearts; rather than the default three, even if the Cave of Trials from Twilight Princess was not played.

Update: Bumped to the top. Some reports are surfacing that the infinite arrows glitch has been fixed. In case you’re wondering, it involves the following:

Original: Last night, Nintendo brought out a third update for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. All players can download version 1.1.2. Unfortunately, Nintendo didn’t elaborate on specifics, only stating that it implements adjustments “to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.”

So what’s included here? Initial impressions indicate that the frame rate hasn’t been improved unlike last time. However, Nintendo may have addressed a glitch with one particular boss.
