Rumor: FIFA for Switch based off PS3 / 360 versions

During the Nintendo Switch Presentation, EA announced that it will be bringing FIFA to Switch. Eurogamer’s Tom Phillips now reports that it’ll be based on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions that the publisher still churns out. It’s unclear if that information comes from EA directly, though it wouldn’t be entirely surprising.
Rumor: Best Buy price change report indicates Switch will cost $249.99

Update: Bumped to the top. This has the SKU 5670100 in Best Buy’s price system with the description “Nintendo N2”, and is $249.99. The name is definitely a placeholder. Whether or not the price is as well remains to be seen.
Original: Reddit user radoster95, who is a staffer at Best Buy, claims to have seen a price change report from the retailer today. The document apparently states that Switch will cost $249.99.
Normally this is the sort of thing we’d pass on sharing. However, judging by radoster95’s history, he does actually seem to be a Best Buy employee.
The $249.99 tidbit is the only thing we have from radoster95 at the moment, unfortunately. He did not elaborate on the possibility of bundles (there have been rumors of a higher-priced package) or anything else.
Note that even if what radoster95 has seen is accurate, it’s not a confirmation of Switch’s price by any means. Thankfully, we’re just a couple of days away from an official announcement.
Nikkei article speculates about Switch price

Update: We’ve managed to gain access to Nikkei’s full article, and it appears to be more light speculation rather than a true assertion. It talks about how Wii U and Wii both launched at a price of 25,000 yen for instance, and an analyst from Rakuten is expecting Switch to be around 20,000 yen to be a popular item. This isn’t quite like Nikkei’s other articles that really went out of its way to make it clear that it had original information on hand.
Original: Nikkei has published an article with what could be the Japanese price point for Switch. According to the site, Nintendo will be setting the system at 25,000 yen. Unfortunately, we don’t have access to the full piece as a membership is required, but that price is in fact what Nikkei is claiming.
A direct conversion from yen would put Switch at around $213.65. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean Nintendo would price it at $200. A $250 price point in the United States could end up happening – assuming Nikkei’s information is even accurate.
Nikkei doesn’t have a completely accurate record when it comes to unconfirmed reports. That being said, the outlet has been very solid in the past.

Rumor: Koei Tecmo working on new Nintendo-themed Warriors game for Switch

Koei Tecmo could be collaborating with Nintendo on another Warriors game for Switch, if the latest speculation is to be believed.
On Wii U, the two companies worked together to bring Hyrule Warriors to Wii U. The game was then ported to 3DS last year as Hyrule Warriors Legends.
YouTuber OBE1plays first claimed that Koei Tecmo is developing a new Nintendo-themed Warriors game for Switch. Apparently, the project is not a retread of Zelda, nor is it based on Star Fox. Laura Kate Dale, who has been posting Switch rumors over the past few months (many of which have proven accurate thus far), wrote last month that Koei Tecmo pitched a Star Fox Warriors title at some point, but Nintendo turned it down.
Following OBE1plays’ report, Dale wrote on Twitter that she’s heard similar things about Koei Tecmo’s Switch game. She as well says it isn’t related to Zelda or Star Fox.

Rumor: Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches March in North America and Japan, unclear in Europe

Tom Phillips of Eurogamer has come forward with another report on the Switch, following numerous reports of his that turned out to be correct. Today, he talked about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s release date – or release dates, rather. According to his sources, Breath of the Wild will launch in March in both North America and Japan, but the situation in Europe is still unclear. Supposedly, Nintendo of Europe was operating under the assumption that the game would not launch in March alongside the Switch itself and was pushing for a long period of localisation and quality assurance.
However, plans supposedly changed at some point during the last couple of months, and the higher-ups in at Nintendo in Japan wanted to make the Switch launch lineup as strong as possible, and thus decided to make Breath of the Wild a launch title in both North America and Japan.

Liam Robertson often digs up news on cancelled games and occasionally information on upcoming projects. In a series of Twitter posts, Robertson shares unconfirmed details about the Mario and Rabbids crossover title (thought to be called Rabbids Kingdom Battle) apparently planned for Switch.

Latest Zelda: Breath of the Wild screenshot may point to Beedle’s inclusion in the game

Nintendo released yet another Zelda: Breath of the Wild screenshot today, and the folks over at GameXplain noticed something interesting about the image. In the lower left hand corner, a character is shown that looks a whole lot like Beedle.
For one thing, the bag takes on the resemblance of an actual beetle. If that wasn’t enough, the character takes on a similar appearance as Beedle himself from past entries in the series with the color of his hair, shorts, and shoes. The art on the character’s shorts seems similar as well.
Beedle is a merchant in several of the Zelda games, such as Wind Waker and Skyward Sword. It would make sense for him to serve a similar role in Breath of the Wild.
Rumor: In-store GameStop Switch pre-orders begin on January 13

Reddit user beyond_the_willow is relaying some information about in-store pre-orders for Switch at GameStop based on a GSO letter, which is essentially a company-wide email. Locations across the United States will apparently begin accepting reservations on January 13. Additionally, each store will be allocated a certain number of pre-orders.
While this would certainly make sense given how the Nintendo Switch Presentation is being held on January 12, we’ll still consider it a rumor for the time being. We should note that beyond_the_willow previously shared accurate information about Hyrule Edition New 3DS XL and the Animal Crossing New 3DS pre-orders in 2015.

Laura Kate Dale has published a new set of Switch rumors pertaining specifically to Ubisoft.
First, Dale has an update on Beyond Good & Evil 2. Her sources have informed her that the game’s code name is “Odyssey”. It’ll be exclusive to Switch for the game’s first 12 months in both retail and digital versions. After that period ends, it’ll head to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, but digital-only. Dale says Beyond Good & Evil 2’s teaser will probably be shown at the end of Switch’s big event next week.
Dale also shares some news about Rayman Legends, which originally arrived in 2013. She reports that this version of the title will be announced during the January 12 event and will ship in Q2.
Finally, the Mario and Rabbids crossover RPG is apparently going by the name “Rabbids Kingdom Battle”. She’s heard from one source that it may be pushed back to September.
Rumor: Zelda: Breath of the Wild set for North American Switch launch in March

Update: Bumped to the top. Emily Rogers also now says that Zelda: Breath of the Wild should be expected in March in North America.
Original: Laura Kate Dale, a person who has been leading the Switch rumor mill even before Nintendo properly announced the system, now claims that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild is due out in March. Finalized materials are beginning to surface, which is what Dale is partially basing her speculation on.
We did hear before as part of one rumor that Breath of the Wild may not be ready until the summer / June. However, Dale is now certain that the Switch version will be out in just a couple of months. She’s unclear what the status of the Wii U version is at the moment in terms of a release window. As for the conflicting reports, a European delay or Wii U delay could potentially be involved.
Meanwhile, Dale has also heard that print magazines have wrapped up their upcoming issues focusing on Switch. That means “certain info can now be better fact checked.”
