All three major console manufacturers have approached TowerFall creator Matt Thorson, including Nintendo. The Big N talked to Thorson at this year’s E3.
Thorson told Polygon:
“Everyone has approached me. At E3, Nintendo talked to me. Sony came to my house. Microsoft has been emailing me. There’s a lot of demand for the game. I just want as many people to play it as possible.”
TowerFall was originally released for Ouya, and is now coming to PC. Maybe we’ll see it on the eShop one day…
Amidst seemingly insurmountable financial troubles, developer Atlus’ parent company (“Index Corporation”) will be delisting its stock on July 28th, and should begin taking bids for its goods and services next week. Atlus employees continue to say that the situation won’t affect their daily operations, and the launch of games like Shin Megami Tensei IV (which came out earlier this week) and Dragon’s Crown will remain unaffected.
Index Corp. CEO Yoshimi Ochiai and Chairman Masami Ochiai plan to resign.
Nintendo is giving fans an opportunity to go hands on with Pikmin 3 this weekend. Over 250 GameStop locations will have an early demo, and those who pre-order a digital copy at the retailer will receive access one day early.
Pikmin 3 isn’t the only title that will be on display at GameStop’s preview, it would seem. Nintendo has sent out a tweet stating that the company “might even give you a sneak peek at an upcoming 3DS game”.

Kid Icarus could be heading to the Wii U Virtual Console next week. Nintendo’s website lists the game for a July 25 release, but all entries in the database are subject to change. Assuming it does come out, you’ll be able to make a purchase for $4.99.
On a slightly less interesting note, Angler’s Club: Ultimate Bass Fishing 3D will apparently be released on the 3DS eShop next Thursday as well for $29.95.
Video game composer Nobuo Uematsu was at Comic-Con this week, and Siliconera took the opportunity to ask him if he’s working on anything with Hironobu Sakaguchi. His response was interesting, to say the least.
“Well, you know, quite recently we’ve been talking together quite often.”
The last time Uematsu and Sakaguchi worked on something major together was, of course, The Last Story. Wouldn’t it be nice if the two were developing a follow-up for Wii U?
Shin’en has confirmed that announcements surrounding its new Wii U projects are planned for the fall. A specific date hasn’t been set at this point, but we at least know that news is due in the somewhat near future. The company is said to be working on a couple of new titles for Wii U currently.
European Club Nintendo members now have access to the “Game Card Case”. This seems to be the same exact reward that previously hit the North American website and went on to become one of the more popular rewards.
