With Splatoon 3 set to arrive on Switch soon, now’s as good a time as any for us to publish our pre-order guide the game, which will contain information about many major retailer reservations as well as any bonuses that are announced.

As the name implies, Splatoon 3 is the third major entry in the series and the second title on Switch. Many elements are returning like Turf War and Salmon Run, though there’ll be new stages and bosses. Also, an entirely new story mode is planned where players can discover the secrets of Alterna, the Fuzzy Ooze, and how they connect to the mode’s theme, “Return of the Mammalians”.

Atari, Adamvision Studios, and SneakyBox have issued a launch trailer for Yars: Recharged. The game, which brings arcade shoot ’em up and bullet hell chaos to the classic’s formula, has now landed on Switch.

We have more information about Yars: Recharged in the following overview:

WRC Generations was announced earlier this year, but there was no sign of the racer ending up on Switch. However, publisher Nacon has now confirmed plans to release a version for Nintendo’s console – it’ll just be released sometime after the initial launch, which is set for October 13.

According to Nacon, “WRC Generations celebrates the arrival of a new generation of hybrid cars and the new racing thrills they bring, as well as a brand-new Leagues mode that matches players against others of a similar level.” The game is said to be “the most advanced title in the series and has the largest selection of cars, rallies and special stages ever included in a video game.”

The SongPop series has been around since 2012, but Gameloft is now readying the first entry for consoles known as SongPop Party. An eShop listing has it pinned down for September 22, 2022 on Switch.

SongPop Party is a music trivia game featuring music that ranges from cult classics to the latest hits. Up to eight players are supported locally, and there’s online functionality as well.

Arcade Archives Super Volleyball made it to Switch this week, and Hamster showed off the title with new gameplay during a live stream. The full recording is now available.

Another update has gone out for Cuphead, with Switch owners now having access to version 1.3.4.

This is a small quality of life patch that addresses a few more bugs for The Delicious Last Course DLC. Additionally, players now have the option to swap back and forth between the new title screen and the original title screen, which includes a change in the song that will play when you boot up the game.

Nintendo hardware has always had striking color palettes dating all the way back to the GameCube with its distinct indigo, platinum silver, and spice orange launch lineup. Nintendo designer Sakai Yurkio gave us a peak into what’s involved with choosing these memorable colors in a Nintendo keyword article, explaining the thought process behind the coral Nintendo Switch Lite that debuted alongside Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

For a look into how the team settled on the coral Nintendo Switch Lite, we’ve put together a full translation of the article. You can read it below.

Hell Architect, which first debuted last year, is now making the jump to Switch. We don’t have a concrete release date yet, but it’s looking like we’ll be seeing it around the fall.

Hell Architect has players taking on the role of a “hell manager” who is “tasked with developing the underworld in a way that would make Lucifer himself fall off his chair.” The experience is about “building and managing your own hell” – hardly surprising given the official title. Inspirations include Dungeon Keeper, Oxygen Not Included, and Prison Architect.
