The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

Volgar the Viking II came to the Switch eShop a few weeks back, but we now have confirmation that a physical release is in the works. Rock It Games made the announcement today.

Volgar the Viking II will be sold as a standard version that includes a copy of the game, manual, and a collectible map. If you’re looking for something extra, there are also plans for a deluxe edition featuring everything in the standard version plus the official soundtrack on CD.

Later this month, Byte the Bullet will land on Switch. JanduSoft announced today that it will publish the game on September 19, 2024.

Byte the Bullet is a retro-style platformer developed by Lion Ant Games. Players will go inside an infected computer and restore all of the systems impacted by viruses.

Here’s some additional information:

Asterix is celebrating its 65th anniversary, and in honor of the occasion, Microids is preparing the Asterix Maxi Collection: Platinum Edition. It’s due out for Switch on October 31, 2024.

The collection includes a total of six games, all of which are included on a physical cartridge. Also included is a unique silver figurine of Obelix, accompanied by his loyal companion Idefix, proudly holding a stack of Roman helmets. 

New data gives us a look at Japan’s best-selling games of August 2024.

No new games cracked the top five, but the Switch version of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Isekai Chronicles did appear at #8. The Bandai Namco release sold 23,234 copies on Nintendo’s console in its first month. Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 was the overall top seller.

CFK has announced that DownFall, which is made by Rawhand Games, will be appearing on Switch next week. It’s planned for September 12, 2024.

DownFall is a roguelike action shooter. Players will fight back with style against endless waves of enemies in order to develop their character.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have released the next update for Fire Emblem Heroes, version 8.9.0.

This update focuses primarily on Aether Raids, as well as some additional skills for Legendary Heroes.

Special Heroes who glide along the ice with grace are coming soon. Also happening is that the 5-star Hero Nils: Snowflake Melody will appear as a Score Reward in the next Tempest Trials+ event.
