Animal Crossing: New Horizons director Aya Kyogoku has weighed in one what defines the spirit of Animal Crossing.
During an interview with French outlet 20 Minutes, noted that each player would probably have their own thoughts and feelings. However, Nintendo does “seek to make Animal Crossing a sort of common language, a starting point for communication between a large variety of people.”

Hypercharge: Unboxed has a bunch of content upcoming in the future such as new modes and maps. However, due to the coronavirus, Digital Cybercherries says its roadmap “is months behind schedule.” The studio hopes “things will resume to normal soon.”

Reggie Fils-Aime couldn’t have retired as Nintendo of America’s president at a better time. Following the tough times of the Wii U era, Switch has been incredibly successful. Essentially, he was able to go out on top.
Speaking with Washington Post, Reggie said it’s “gratifying to see” Switch doing so well, including the “tremendous momentum” the system currently has. He told the publication:
In a recent interview with French outlet 20 Minutes, Animal Crossing: New Horizons developer Aya Kyogoku discussed Nintendo’s approach to the Switch game. Kyogoku was asked if the team went about making an ultimate version of sorts rather than something entirely new.
In response, the Animal Crossing director said Nintendo always tries making the latest entry “the best game possible,” which was also the case with New Horizons. At the same time, Nintendo wants to preserve the “memories and affection” players have of previous titles like Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Usually when Nintendo has big, new games to announce, they’re unveiled in a Nintendo Direct. That wasn’t the case with Paper Mario: The Origami King, however. News about the game’s existence was dropped out of nowhere on Thursday without any sort of notice. The status of Nintendo Directs are up in the air due to the coronavirus pandemic, so it seems that announcements may take place at any time.
After the whiplash of Paper Mario’s reveal, you quickly come to realize that we’re getting a new entry in the series on Switch in just a couple of months. It’s a quick turnaround for Nintendo, as it’s already slated for July 17.
Several details have been shared about the game so far. You’ll be going up against King Olly, who’s looking to fold the entire world. Mario can use the 1000-Fold Arms to interact with the landscape by stretching out and pulling, peeling and revealing new locations. Characters will be enlisted throughout the journey, including King Olly’s good-natured sister, Olivia, and even Bowser himself. As far as the battle system, which might be the most important aspect, Nintendo says it’ll be ring-based in which you “line up scattered enemies and maximize damage.”
Based on what we’ve seen so far, how are you feeling about Paper Mario: The Origami King? Do you plan on picking up the game in July? Let us know in the comments below.
It’s been just over a week since Megabyte Punch, Team Reptile’s beat ’em up game, was added to the Switch eShop. Everything with its release seemed to have gone well, but a new issue has cropped up. The developer has gotten in touch to inform us that Megabyte Punch is currently unavailable in certain regions.
Those interested in Megabyte Punch can grab it from the North American eShop. However, the same can’t be same of Europe and Australia. It’s nowhere to be found, and Team Reptile has no idea at present why it’s been taken down. The team did reach out to Nintendo, but has not received a response thus far.
Team Reptile shared the following in a statement:
System: Switch
Release date: May 14, 2020
