A new firmware update has just gone live for Switch. Nintendo has started distributing version 5.1.0.
Unfortunately, this update isn’t overly exciting. Nintendo’s patch notes only state: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience”.
Prior to today’s update, the last Switch firmware upgrade was on April 16 with version 5.0.2.
Rumors yesterday had Paul Rudd possibly having a lead role in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie. That speculation turned out to be incorrect in the end, and Variety now reports that James Marsden will be starring in the film. Specifics behind his role have not yet been shared.
The new Sonic movie will debut on November 15, 2019. It will feature a mix of live action and CGI.
Last night’s Pokemon press conference was filled with exciting news about the series’ future in the video game space. After all of the big announcements were made, members of the press were able to participate in a Q&A session with Pokemon president Tsunekazu Ishihara and Game Freak directors Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori.
The Q&A transcript has now been published officially online. There’s talk about Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee as well as the 2019 entries.

Super Mario Odyssey’s latest costume has arrived. Just a few minutes ago, Nintendo released the Racing Helmet as well as the Racing Outfit. They’re priced at 3,000 coins and 5,000 coins respectively.

In both North America and Europe, SEGA has started a pre-load option for Shining Resonance Refrain. You can purchase the game in advance and download the required data ahead of time. By doing so, you can be ready to play on launch day.
Those who pre-load Shining Resonance Refrain can buy it for $44.99 / €44.99 / £40.49. That’s opposed to the normal asking price of $49.99 / €49.99 / £44.99.
Shining Resonance Refrain launches July 10. The digital version takes up 6.5GB of space.
