During a Twitch stream, Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition was briefly shown with off-screen footage. Some details about the upcoming version were shared as well.

One concern players may have relates to worlds from the Wii U version. If you created content on that platform, you’ll be happy to hear that the team is worked on a way to transfer worlds over to Switch. Transfers won’t be ready for launch next month, but it sounds like it will be happening at some point.

Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition was showcased during an official live stream a short while ago. We have the full recording below, but note that the first half had audio issues (not our fault!).

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be arriving next week to Switch, but the whole coverage of the game has been so massive that there aren’t a lot of things that we don’t already know.

For instance, Nintendo Life has published a video showing all of the Battle Arenas that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will feature exclusively in this Switch port. This is the first time that we have an extensive look into all of them.

This revamped Battle Mode will consist of eight new arenas, with just three of them being Battle Arenas from old Mario Kart games. The other five are all-new. Check them out in the video below:

Level-5 previously confirmed Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy for the west following the original announcement of Lady Layton last year. Today, the company announced that it will launch on 3DS this fall in overseas territories.

To clarify, Layton’s Mystery Journey will first be seeing a worldwide release on iOS and Android on July 20 with support for eight languages. Japan is also receiving the 3DS version on the same day, but other territories will need to wait a bit longer.

Here’s an overview of the game:

Ancient posted a couple of tweets today showing some interest in a Switch version of Gotta Protectors. The game last released on 3DS as a hybrid of action and real-time strategy gameplay.

If Gotta Protectors were to come to Switch, the company wondered how the screen design would look like, so the team tried making a very rough design. Ancient thought what four-player split-screen would look like, but the individual screen for each player would be too small. The pixels are currently twice the usual size. If it was changed to about 1.3 times, it should be able to fit quite well, but the pixels would look off.

Note that Ancient doesn’t have Gotta Protectors running on Switch or anything along those lines. They are just testing things to fit on a 16:9 screen.

Amazon previously sold out of the Sonic Mania Collector’s Edition, but it’s back up on the retailer’s site. You can put in a reservation here. Note that it’s out of stock on both Best Buy and GameStop.

Mario Kart 8 features new Smart Steering and Auto Accelerate options. When both are turned on, the game can essentially be played by itself.

Just don’t expect to reach first place often. You’ll also need to handle items yourself. As you can see below, this is really meant to be more of an tool that assists you.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes packed with all DLC from the original game. The additional characters, cups, and vehicles are all here. In case you’re wondering, that seems to include the Mercedes-Benz DLC. One of Nintendo’s latest trailers for the game shows the GLA Tires originally offered Wii U.

The one thing we’re hearing is that the Mercedes-Benz DLC isn’t unlocked by default. That’s a bit strange, as almost everything is immediately available. We’ll keep you updated if we see anything else about the situation.

Mouldy Toof Studios and Team17 pulled back the curtain on a new prison in The Escapists 2. The two sides are introducing Rattlesnake Springs, located in the Old West.

“Sneak around the sheriffs, make friends with the compound’s horses and explore the dark mine below the prison in the wildest lockup yet,” Team17 says about the prison. Players can team up with three friends to break out of Rattlesnake Springs with online or local play later this year.

Here’s a new trailer for The Escapists 2:
