Nintendo has pulled back the curtain on a new Super Mario Maker update coming on December 21 which adds a number of new features.
Those are as follows:
– bumpers (create one by shaking a grinder)
– P Warp Door (create one by shaking a Warp Door)
– Fire Koopa Clown Car (create one by shaking a Koopa Clown Car)
Aside from these new elements, you’ll now be able to see the world record time for each course in addition to the person who completed it first.

Update: It took a few hours, but everything is now back up and running!
It seems like some of Nintendo’s online services are experiencing difficulties right now. Specifically, logging into games with your Nintendo Network ID doesn’t seem to work at the moment. Unfortunately, this means that games that require you to do that, such as Nintendo Badge Arcade, can’t be played at all at the moment.
Nintendo has acknowledged the problem on both their European and Japanese Twitter accounts, so it seems to be a global problem. They are hoping to resolve the issues as soon as possible.
FuRyu is working on another Japanese Doraemon game for 3DS. Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan, based on the upcoming movie of the same name, is slated for March 3.
Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan is a “Primeval Life Adventure”. The single-player game lets players take control of five characters: Doraemon, Nobita, Gian, Suneo, and Shizuka. Adventuring in the world of 7,0000 years ago, using Doraemon’s secret tools, you can fight against enemies and wild beasts, cook, and decorate your room. Appearances of the antagonist “Immortal Spirit King” Gigazombie, as well as the “Great Spirit King” Dorazombie are also confirmed.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition’s arrival on the eShop is imminent. For those curious about the game’s size, the download is 591MB. It’s then dropped to 468MB once installed.
A few hours ago, Game Informer published a new interview with Splatoon co-director Yusuke Amano and producer Hisashi Nogami. The developers talked about things like the single-player campaign, why it wouldn’t work well on 3DS, and no plans for voice chat or paid DLC.

A new Splatoon patch is coming tomorrow, Nintendo has announced. Your game will be brought up to version 2.4.0 once downloaded.
Splatoon’s latest update makes updates to matchmaking, Rainmaker, and stages. Some battle fixes have been implemented as well. The full patch notes are posted below.
It’s also worth mentioning that some Splatoon maintenance will be taking place tomorrow. All network services for the game will be affected at the following times:
– 4:50 PM PT – 6 PM PT
– 7:50 PM ET – 9 PM ET
– 12:50 AM in the UK (Friday) – 2 AM in the UK (Friday)
– 1:50 AM in Europe (Friday) – 3 AM in Europe (Friday)
