TACS Games’ newest project for Wii U is titled Quadcopter Pilot Challenge. The “slightly odd quadrotor flight simulator” features over 200 challenges, with gameplay elements made up of things like flying through rings, popping balloons, shooting targets, and chasing robotic sheep.

Update: Good news! Toys “R” Us is reinstating orders. See the email below.

Toys “R” Us opened in-store pre-orders for the Greninja and Pac-Man amiibo yesterday. Greninja was naturally the main attraction here, as it’s exclusive to the retailer. Unfortunately, everything didn’t go as planned. Some consumers started receiving emails from Toys “R” Us today indicating their pre-orders have been cancelled due to a lack of stock.

There’s not much to say other than this is an absolutely awful situation. I can’t imagine getting up early and standing in line, only to have my pre-order randomly cancelled!

The Strong National Museum of Play will be making its first selection for the World Video Game Hall of Fame in June. Nominees have now been announced, and the lineup includes The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., Pokemon, and more.

In the PlayStation versions of Shovel Knight, Yacht Club included a special stage featuring Sony’s Kratos character. The same was done for the Xbox One version, which has a Battletoads boss level. There’s nothing similar to speak of at present for Shovel Knight on Wii U or 3DS, but that doesn’t mean Yacht Club Games isn’t interested in the possibilities. Far from it actually!

In an interview with GamingBoulevard, Yacht Club Games’ David D’Angelo spoke about the character he’d like to see in the Nintendo versions of Shovel Knight if the opportunity presented itself:

Who knows?! It’d be amazing to work with a Nintendo IP. They have so many great ones to choose from. I usually go for the weirdos, so Tingle would be right up my alley.

Elsewhere in the interview, D’Angelo spoke about his interest in seeing Shovel Knight in Smash Bros.:

Absolutely, Shovel Knight in smash would be incredible! We play Smash Bros. pretty much every day, and to see our character as part of the roster would be an amazing honor! Lots of our fans have come up with really great descriptions for attacks and final smashes, I’d suggest checking them out!

A new report on IGN unveils brand new details about Project Project Ukulele, which is now known as Yooka-Laylee.

Yooka-Laylee’s lead characters are named Yooka and Laylee. Yooka is the chameleon while Laylee is the bat. Thanks to his tongue, Yooka can use it as a grappling hook. Laylee, meanwhile, can pick up Yooka and fly for a short period of time or unleash a sonar blast. Both characters were designed by Steve Mayles, who designs Banjo and Kazooie and the modern Kong family while at Rare.

Yooka-Laylee’s Kickstarter will launch on May 1. Fans who back the project for £10 / $15 will be able to obtain a copy. Extras include soundtracks, art books, and a special “64-bit”. There are plans to bring Yooka-Laylee to Wii U, but its release timing will depend on the success of the Kickstarter campaign and its stretch goals.
