Back in November 2014, Nintendo shared a trailer for Splatoon in which the single-player campaign was shown for the first time. Interestingly, there are quite a few things were changed or never made it into the release version, such as the arcade-like shooter pictured above. You can get a look at all of the differences in the video below.
Three new Fire Emblem If screenshots have been discovered on the game’s Japanese 3DS eShop page. In the first two images, we see the Avatar and Kazahana teaming up to defeat a Nohrian Dark Mage. The third has an Inigo lookalike teaming up with what seems to be a female Cavalier in order to tackle a Ninja.
View the three screenshots in the gallery below (along with what it looks like on the 3DS home menu). Above, you can see the Fire Emblem If pre-paid eShop card.
NintenDaan has uploaded additional footage from the Wii U Virtual Console version of Big Brain Academy, which just hit the European eShop on Thursday. Check it out below.
No Friday Just a Chat this week, so the discussion Daan and I held a couple of days ago comes in handy! Giving this a quick bump for those who missed it.
It’s only been a few days since the last Just a Chat, but Daan and I thought it’d be appropriate to hold another discussion in light of the big Nintendo news that’s come in over the past couple of days. There were actually two new Nintendo Directs to chat about! And that means talk relating to the new Chibi-Robo, Monster Hunter games, Bravely Second for the west, and much more.
Stuff:
A number of new stretch goals have been announced for the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter.
The orchestrated tracks goal, which was previously announced, is the most attainable. Bloodstained’s Kickstarter will need to reach $3.75 million for this to happen.
Other new stretch goals for Bloodstained include an online challenge mode ($4 million), third playable character ($4.25 million), prequel mini-game for consoles ($4.5 million), and a portable port of the same prequel mini-game ($4.75 million).
Speaking of that prequel mini-game, here’s an overview of that:
PREQUEL MINI-GAME FOR CONSOLES: Inti Creates is so excited about Bloodstained that they’re hoping to create a 2D, pixel-based, retro-styled mini-game that sheds some light on the world of Bloodstained before Miriam awoke from her coma. This is a complete game which will be sold separately, but every $28+ backer copy of Bloodstained will come with a FREE download of this game on PS4, XB1, Wii U, or PC! (Backers at Physical+Digital tiers will be eligible for 2 copies of the mini-game.)
PREQUEL MINI-GAME FOR PORTABLES: At $4.75 million Inti will port their side story game to the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS. Backers $28 and up will be able to choose any platform for their free copy (or copies)!
With only six days remaining in Bloodstained’s campaign, it’s admittedly going to be difficult to reach those latter stretch goals. It’s be very neat to see that prequel mini-game happen, however.

Several new games out came out this week on the Wii U and 3DS eShops. If you’re interested in checking out what’s new in screenshot form, take a peak at the gallery below.
The Inkbrush weapon is now available in Splatoon. Nintendo announced that the item would be launching today just a few hours ago, so the turnaround for its release was rather quick. Let us know what you think about it!
During a presentation held at WWX2015 in France, Level Up Labs announced that the OpenFL framework is in the works for consoles, including Wii U and 3DS.
OpenFL-supported programs are created with the Haxe language and can be used to create different types of applications/Flash movies. It’s already supported on platforms like PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
OpenFL demos are already compiling and running on Wii U. 3DS will be supported as well, though the team is currently awaiting its dev kit.
You can find a transcript of the presentation here. There are plenty of technical details to wrap your brain around.
