Amiibo

Could Art Academy: Home Studio be receiving amiibo support? While it can’t be confirmed for sure just yet, that’s what an eShop listing is suggesting. Over on the North American Art Academy: Home Studio eShop page, amiibo is listed as one of its features. The title launches in just a few weeks, so Nintendo will probably need to make this known soon if it’s happening.

Today, Nintendo announced that Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash is heading to North America in October. We also know that the related amiibo will be releasing in the U.S. as well.

There is something important to point out, however. In the Nintendo Direct Micro published today, it was stated that the amiibo will only be sold together with Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash. In other words, you can’t buy the amiibo separately.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata published a few messages on the company’s Japanese Twitter account following today’s Nintendo Direct.

Iwata first commented on how he did not host this latest broadcast. Rather than having him present, he turned to Mr. Morimoto from the PR department for the stream. Despite this, Iwata noted that has hasn’t quit doing Nintendo Directs. He just thought it might not be interesting to see a 55 year-old man present each time.

Iwata also addressed the amiibo situation as well. Once again, he apologized for amiibo shortages. He said that some figures will be re-produced, though this will take time to accomplish.

Nintendo shared the first information on Fire Emblem If’s amiibo support during today’s Japanese Nintendo Direct. These characters based on the figures can appear in your town, and you can fight them/talk to them. If you defeat a Fire Emblem amiibo character, they’ll join your party.

Nintendo also showed off the new element in which you build your own castle and have teammates handle the shops – basically building your own town. It’s possible to change perspectives from up top to third-person person so you can see the town in 3D. You can also visit other friend’s castles/towns and obtain items.
