Bumping this to the top. Amazon will begin opening up orders in a half hour (5 PM ET / 2 PM PT). See the specific times in the message above (orders will open at any time during each half hour window), and check out links for each figure below.

Amazon didn’t end up taking reservations for the newest amiibo, but the retailer will be opening orders tomorrow. That includes the latest Smash Bros. figures, silver Mario, and Splatoon.

You’ll be able to order amiibo during different time slots throughout the day. Amazon has narrowed things down to half-hour slots, though items will be sold at any point during those time frames (not necessarily at the beginning of each window). Quantities are expected to be “very limited”.

Below are links to each amiibo. You should keep track of each as we approach the different hours.

We’ve already posted an unboxing video for the Inkling Boy amiibo. You can get another look at the figure in the video below, along with the Inkling Girl.

We’ve already talked about how the Villager amiibo seems to have received a few reprints with its recent Japanese reprint. There aren’t massive changes, but the eyes and mouth have been modified in particular.

Take a look at some comparison images in the gallery below, courtesy of GameSpot. Original is on the left, reprint is on the right.

Nintendo is bringing back another round of amiibo in Japan very soon. Marth, Ike, Lucario, Meta Knight, Lucina, and Robin will be available once again starting in mid-June. We can only hope that overseas territories receive continued amiibo restocks of their own as well over the next few months!

Splatoon was released yesterday in Japan and it seems like the game is being incredibly well received as copies are already hard to come by. On its official Japanese Twitter account, Nintendo issued an apology and promised that additional shipments will be delivered to stores next week. Meanwhile, they urge customers to purchase the digital version if they can’t wait. Nintendo also intends to produce more Splatoon amiibo, which are similarly hard to get.

Update: Bumped to the top. Eurogamer’s article has been changed, and the mention of Toad has been removed. Toad should work after all!

New amiibo functionality was unveiled for Yoshi’s Woolly World today. Players will be able to scan almost every figure, which unlocks new patterns.

Nintendo said in its announcement that over 40 amiibo would be supported in Yoshi’s Woolly World. According to a Eurogamer report, the Pokemon and Toad figures can’t be used to unlock new patterns.

Update: Target is now saying the opposite on the same Twitter account. I’m not sure where the confusion originated from, but at least the situation wasn’t as poor as we thought!

Target will be handling the launch of Friday’s new amiibo in a peculiar way. We’re not sure why this is, but customers will only be allowed to purchase two figures in total. That means you could go with a combination like Charizard and Wario, but that’s it. Just two.

The official “AskTarget” Twitter account posted the following earlier today, which has since been backed up by other employees:

I can absolutely understand limiting things to one of each character. Only allowing customers to purchase a total of two figures, though? That seems a tad crazy. If Target wasn’t offering the exclusive Jigglypuff amiibo, I doubt many people would be trying their luck there!
