Sega is the latest company to reveal all the games it’s bringing to Tokyo Game Show this year. Other than some of Sega’s and Atlus’ own titles, such as Sonic Forces and Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey, Sega is also hosting a bunch of “partner” games from other publishers at their booth, such as EA and Warner Bros. Here’s the full lineup (thanks to Gematsu for the translation):

Between new games and remakes, Atlus has cranked out a bunch of Etrian Odyssey games for 3DS. Another entry in the series is in development, and it sounds like it will be the last one for Nintendo’s dedicated portable.

Referring to what fans want to see from Etrian Odyssey, series director Shigeo Komori told Famitsu in a new interview:

In order to meet the expectations of these fans, I would like to deliver a “festival”-like game that can be said to be another culmination [of the series]. That’s the feeling I have, and I am currently developing a new game.

Komori went on to tease towards the very end of the interview:

This is the last game in the series that will have a map to be drawn on the bottom screen on the Nintendo 3DS. For specifics, I hope that you can wait until the day when we can officially announce it.

Atlus has a new Etrian Odyssey V trailer focusing on the Pugilist class. We have the video along with a brief introduction below.

If you’re looking to dish out more damage while adventuring in the Yggdrasil Tree, you can’t go wrong with having a Pugilist in the party. These masters of martial arts and bare-knuckle brawling are ready to punch some beasts in the face, so be sure to slot them in the front line and let them loose. Besides being able to inflict game changing binds and paralysis on enemies, Pugilists can sacrifice HP in order to deal out some very punishing attacks. It’s never a bad idea to roll around with someone whose fists are considered deadly weapons.

During a live stream this week, Famitsu showed new footage of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. Watch the archived version below.

There’s a new character class trailer for Etrian Odyssey V– this time it’s the botanist. A botanist is said to both heal and hurt with herbs. You can see this proof-of-concept below.

In the past, Atlus has worked with outside companies to publish and distribute its games in Europe. Past partners include NIS America and Koch. Today, however, games will be handled internally.

GamesIndustry reports that a new team has been created, which will allow Atlus to be in charge of the European publishing of its own titles. They’ll be located in SEGA Europe’s offices in London. This will allow Atlus to better support fans with special edition sets and products that are extended to North America and other markets.

Atlus has a new Etrian Odyssey V trailer focusing on the Masurao class. We have the video along with a brief introduction below.

Do you know what’s really effective against the deadly creatures that call the Yggdrasil tree home? If you said katanas, you’re absolutely right! Luckily, the Therian Masurao in Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth just so happens to delight in slicing and dicing with beautifully crafted Japanese swords. They can be slotted in the frontline to slash everything in their path and can even attack multiple opponents in a single attack. Oh, they can also lure rare enemies into combat to get better items and gain more experience with the New Challenger skill. The better the skill, the rarer the enemies, and the greater the rewards! The Masurao can specialize in using one sword to become a master of the blade or it can learn to wield up to four of them and become a bona fide sword saint.

Etrian Odyssey V will launch in North America on October 17, Atlus announced today. The European release date will be shared at a later date.

As previously mentioned, those who pre-order Etrian Odyssey V or pick it up around launch day will receive the limited edition pictured above. It includes a copy of the game, a 24-page art book, 6-track music CD, and outer box.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 will be packaged with a special bonus soundtrack when it’ll be released in Japan on August 31st. The “User’s Best Album” features a variety of tracks from all of the main Etrian Odyssey games on two discs. Atlus released a sample video that lets you listen to some of the tracks on the album. Atlus has a new Etrian Odyssey V trailer focusing on the Warlock class. We have the video along with a brief introduction below.

There are a lot of monsters that call the Yggdrasil home. Sure, cold hard steel and explosive gunpowder can usually get the job done, but sometimes a little more “oomph” is required when dealing with these pesky beasts. Thankfully, the Celestrian’s Warlock class provides a magical spark to these engagements. And when we say spark, we actually mean ancient power that can summon raging fireballs, monstrous hailstorms, amplify other magical abilities, and more! As they level up, Warlocks can further specialize in base elemental skills (fire, ice, and lightning) or branch out to learn new elemental earth and wind spells.
