Placards development wrapping up, trailer
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Placards is the newest game from GetClose developer Wombat Source. We last heard about the project in January 2015, but it’s now nearing release.
It was clear before that Placards was going to be a puzzle title of some sorts. However, Wombat Source has now shared the following overview:
“Placards is a unique single-player puzzle experience that requires players to think both visually and strategically. Rearrange pixels on the screen by rotating or swapping to solve Placard puzzles. That Placard too big to solve in one go? Solve a piece at a time to get closer to that final Placard picture. From simple shapes to space ships to a fire breathing dragon, there are over 100 puzzles to keep you occupied for hours.”
Look at Placards’ first trailer below.

Earlier in the year, indie developer VaragtP put out a simulation game Plantera. Ratalaika Games is now porting it over to both Wii U and 3DS.
The company confirmed on Twitter:
Things finally grow and move! Let's add the falling now 🙂 #Plantera #3DS #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday @VaragtP pic.twitter.com/38PZ8gao4J

@NintendoHall @VaragtP Yes, 3DS & Wii U 😀
— Ratalaika Games (@RatalaikaGames) September 24, 2016
The objective of Plantera is to create your own garden and grow it with new plants, bushes, trees, and animals. Helpers will eventually give you assistance as your garden grows by picking up things and harvesting your plants – even when you’re not playing. However, other critters will invade your garden and will need to be taken down.
Here’s a trailer for the game:

FAST Racing Neo port unlikely for NX
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 15 Comments
When new systems hit the market, some developers and publishers are inclined to bring over older projects. With FAST Racing Neo and NX, however, there are no such plans. You can purchase FAST Racing Neo from the Wii U eShop where it’s likely to stay.
Shin’en was asked about the possibility of a FAST Racing Neo port on NX in an interview with Nintendoomed. On the subject, the studio said:
“For the Wii U we think FAST + DLC is just perfect and certainly one of the best games you could get there. If we would do another FAST game on a new platform we would not simply do a port. We would try to look at the platform to see what could be done beyond the current game.”
That takes care of that! We’ll see Shin’en projects on NX one day, but when we do, it probably won’t be a port of FAST Racing Neo. And if/when the FAST series returns, it should be something more on the new side.
