Club Nintendo members in Australia have a new reward to choose from starting today. Nintendo has added in a Mario hat, priced at 3,200 star points.

Nintendo says the reward “is a true-to-life replica of the iconic red hat worn by Mario.” For those curious, it’s made out of polyester and cotton.

1-UP Studio played a role in the creation of Super Mario 3D World. It’s unclear how the company contributed, but they were involved with development in some capacity. 1-UP Studio also worked on Super Mario 3D Land when it was formerly known as Brownie Brown.

The videos above come from Digital Foundry’s latest technical investigation focusing on Super Mario 3D World. As shown in the footage, 3D World offers a rock solid 60 frames per second and “clean visuals”. You can check out Digital Foundry’s full piece here.

The incredible Mario mural above is located at an elementary school in the city of Shenzhen. As for why it was put up, it’s said to give children something to aspire to and helps reduce fears about attending school. The school also puts a considerable amount of focus in anime and manga education, though it’s true that Mario is actually a video game.

Nintendo has finally confirmed the limited edition, silver-colored 3DS XL system featuring Mario and Luigi. It’s available for purchase starting today. The MSRP is $199.99, though retailers like Best Buy have it available for $180.
