Awhile back, we had heard that Siren from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 would be receiving a real-life product. It turns out that the item will come in the form of a model kit, and pre-orders have opened.

Play-Asia is taking reservations here, though there’s a deadline of August 13. AmiAmi also has it here.

The Siren model kit will launch in November. Have a look at some photos below.

As part of its Season Pass, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has been receiving a variety of DLC all year, culminating with the release of the story DLC Torna: The Golden Country on September 14th. Dataminers, similarly, have also been at it all year and discovered some DLC features before they were officially announced. This has happened again today as hackers have found customizable difficulty options, which will presumably be added to the game at some point in the feature.

Last week, Torna – The Golden Country was announced as the big story expansion for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Monolith Soft executive director Tetsuya Takahashi has since shared more on the new content and how it came to be.

Takahashi reveals that Torna – The Golden Country was included with the team’s original prototype for the main game – or “one of the potential story candidates”. However, it was determined that the Torna content “would divert a major portion of the budget and development time we had allotted for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.” The concept was abandoned, but Takahashi still had it on his PC, and it was brought back in the form of the expansion / DLC.

At the end of this week, Nintendo dropped the next big piece of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC. Expansion Pass owners can get their hands on the Battle Challenge Mode Pack. Get a lengthy look at the DLC in the gameplay video below.

Update: Bumped to the top. Added in the patch notes below.

Original: The next big update for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has arrived. Version 1.5.0 is live, along with the Challenge Battle Mode for Expansion Pass owners.

Challenge Battle Mode “gives players many chances to test their skills, plenty of loot to earn, and some minor story elements that show the characters in a new light”. You’ll be taking on hordes of enemies in Waves to complete each challenge. Additionally, Shulk and Fiora from the first Xenoblade Chronicles join the fight as Blades.

We’ll bring you the full patch notes for today’s update as soon as we have them.

Nintendo’s Treehouse stream at E3 is showing the new Challenge Mode DLC for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This is the first footage we’re seeing of the content.

Interestingly, Nintendo has confirmed rumors of Shulk and Fiora appearing. In fact, both will be playable. Both act as Blades in the game.
