This is just one of several updates that have arrived in Splatoon since launch. Nintendo has added Ranked Battles, Inkbrush and N-Zap ’85 weapons, and the Port Mackerel map.

Latest Splatoon DLC stage announced

The latest in the promised DLC for Splatoon has now been announced. It looks like the next stage we have to Ink up is called the Kelp Dome. Now we have another arena for our Inklings to have a whole lot of fun!

Kelp Dome should be out later tonight in North America. It’ll be tomorrow morning in Europe.

Update: More cover plates – Europe: New 3DS Splatoon cover plates coming this month

Update: Bumped to the top. We also have confirmation of another two cover plates for Europe.

Previously, the Splatoon cover plates pictured above were set to be released in Europe this July. However, Nintendo just announced that we’ll be able to get our hands on them a bit earlier, namely on June 26th.

Video: A look at Splatoon’s motion controls in Battle Dojo for the second player

As we mentioned last week, Splatoon allows for a second player in Battle Dojo to use a motion control setup. This can be done by “attaching” a Wii Remote Plus to the Wii U Pro Controller or Classic Controller/Pro. You can get a look at this in the video below.

Splatoon recreated in Minecraft

Back in November 2014, Nintendo shared a trailer for Splatoon in which the single-player campaign was shown for the first time. Interestingly, there are quite a few things were changed or never made it into the release version, such as the arcade-like shooter pictured above.
