Original Fire Games will release Circuit Superstars on Switch next week, the studio has announced. It will be available on June 22, 2023.
Circuit Superstars, a top-down racer, first released towards thee end of 2021 to a strong reception. A ton of features involving both single-player and mutliplayer. We have lots of additional details below.
The Lara Croft Collection coming to Switch this month

Feral Interactive will publish The Lara Croft Collection on Switch this month, an eShop listing reveals. It will be available on June 29, 2023.
We previously reported on this back in October 2021. The collection includes Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris. Up to four players are supported with local co-op.
Triangle Strategy update (version 1.1.0) available now, patch notes

An update has been released for Triangle Strategy, bringing the game up to version 1.1.0. This brings with it a variety of surprising new content, including extra chapter events that can be played through after completion of Serenoa’s route in the game. Octopath Traveler II shipments and digital sales surpass one million

Square Enix has shared a new sales milestones for Octopath Traveler II. Since launch, total shipments and digital sales for the RPG have surpassed one million units worldwide.
That news was shared in an official tweet today. A special piece of art was posted to celebrate, which we have above.
Octopath Traveler II initially released for Switch on February 24, 2023.

Former Sonic Team head Yuji Naka arrested over insider trading

Original: Reports out of Japan indicate that Yuji Naka has been arrested by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office. A case has been kicking around this week regarding insider trading, and it seems Naka is now involved.
It was already reported earlier today that Square Enix employee Taisuke Sazaki and their acquaintance Fumiaki Suzuki were arrested for unfairly acquiring stock in Aiming. Square Enix works with Aiming on mobile games, including Dragon Quest Tact and Gestalt Odin. Sazaki and Suzuki were arrested under suspicions of purchasing around 47 million yen of stock in Aiming before it was officially revealed that they would be working with Square Enix on Dragon Quest Tact.

Live A Live sequel was planned during the DS era, hope for the future

According to Live A Live director Takashi Tokita, the RPG almost received a sequel during the DS era.
Tokita shared that information in a recent interview with Famitsu. He said that while there were plans for a new game, “it was hard to display the passion of Live A Live fans to the company, and so we ended up in an impasse.”

New Dragon Quest Monsters game in development for Switch

A new Dragon Quest Monsters game is on the way to Switch, Square Enix just announced. Specifics such as a release window were not provided.
Today’s news comes as part of a special 25th anniversary celebration video for the series. The very first entry, Dragon Warrior Monsters, came to Japan as a Game Boy Color release in 1998 followed by the west at the start of 2000.

PowerWash Simulator announces Warhammer 40,000 collaboration

PowerWash Simulator has another collaboration in the works having revealed a partnership with Warhammer 40,000. A release window for its availability was not announced.
PowerWash Simulator has been going into overdrive with collaborations as of late. Just a week ago, we found out about a partnership with SpongeBob SquarePants. Previously, the game received DLC for Final Fantasy VII and Tomb Raider.

Theatrhythm devs on the future of the series

The developers of Theatrhythm Final Bar Line have weighed in on the series’ future. This could be the end… or perhaps not.
Series director Masanobu Suzui and producer Ichiro Hazama recently spoke with Dengeki Online, and said that Final Bar Line is intended to be the last game in the series. However, Hazama did acknowledge that things may not necessarily end if fans show their interest. It was also shared that Nomura came up with the new for the new title.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line devs explain lack of touch controls

Previous Theatrhythm games allowed games to use touch controls, but Final Bar Line is all about buttons. This is in spite of the fact that Switch does have a touch screen. In a recent interview, series director Masanobu Suzui and producer Ichiro Hazama revealed that there was some consideration around supporting both methods, but it wasn’t meant to be.
Suzui, speaking with Dengeki Online, brought up one factor which is that Switch has a capacitance-type touchscreen while 3DS featured a pressure-type one. While there was talk about supporting button controls and touch controls for each song, he said that the team “already needed multiple copies of sheet music for each song to account for difficulty levels.”
