It honestly doesn’t feel like five years have gone by since Switch first launched. Personally speaking, I still very much enjoy the novelty of playing games either in portable mode or on the television. But of course, the most important aspect of a console is always its library and the Switch has a lot to offer in that area.

In today’s video, I discuss Nintendo’s strategy on Switch as a publisher and how the company is making smart use of its assets to provide a new game almost every month, being very close to sustaining the console on their own and releasing games of all sizes. You can check out the video down below.

A new month started up earlier this week. Now that we’re in March, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Have you started up Triangle Strategy? Are you still sinking your teeth into Pokemon Legends: Arceus? Or maybe you’re going through a different Switch release or something from your backlog. No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.

Pillars of Eternity II Switch

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is no longer in development for Switch, publisher Versus Evil has announced.

That news was passed along on the company’s official Discord channel. One of the Versus Evil staffers confirmed: “Unfortunately, after much deliberation, we have decided not to move forward with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire for the Nintendo Switch.” Additional information about the Switch version’s cancellation was not provided.

In a blog post this week, Yacht Club Games provided a breakdown of sales for its various games, including a couple of more recent releases – Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon and Cyber Shadow.

Since launch, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon has sold a bit over 35,000 units across all platforms. Going into more of the details, first week sales came in at just under 20,000 units while first month sales were just over 30,000.

Chex Quest HD

Chex Quest HD is heading to Switch, an eShop listing reveals. It’s due out in just a few page as the store page has the title down for March 11, 2022.

Chex Quest, which originally released in 1996, isn’t your traditional first-person shooter. You won’t find much violence here, and the game was originally made by Digital Café to promote the Chex breakfast cereal. After receiving General Mills’ blessing, the HD version initially debuted in 2019 with overhauled visuals in Unreal Engine 4.

Release date: March 10, 2022
Developer: Square Enix

It takes some guts to release a Switch-exclusive kart racer on the same platform that houses the sales juggernaut that is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe; it takes even more guts to ape Nintendo’s kart racer so closely at a mechanical level that comparisons will be all but inevitable. Chocobo GP is the latest entry in Square Enix’s Final Fantasy-themed series of racing games, and it tries to set itself apart from the competition by including a fully-voiced story mode, a unique approach to power-ups, and oodles of Final Fantasy charm. Unfortunately, the slim track count and safe but unremarkable racing mechanics makes Chocobo GP feel inessential at best.

Triangle Strategy

It’s time for the latest North American Nintendo Download report for the week of March 3, 2022. The latest releases include Triangle Strategy and more.

Here’s the full lineup:

The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

switch 5 years

Switch has hit a big milestone, as the console is now five years old. The same also goes for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as the two launched together.

Switch originally released on March 3, 2017. It’ll soon be March 3 everywhere, but it’s already that date in some parts in the world – Japan in particular.
