Donkey Kong 64

More than 20 years after its original release, a new secret of sorts has been found in Donkey Kong 64. Fans have discovered a hidden developer code that, when the player goes through a series of inputs, allows entry into a level with a lower than normal amount of Golden Bananas.

Twitter user tjballaam originally passed along the news. The Cutting Room Floor offers further insight, including the code itself:

The Astral Chain IP was previously held by both Nintendo and developer PlatinumGames. Now, however, that’s no longer the case.

PlatinumGames boss Atsushi Inaba confirmed to VGC that Astral Chain fully belongs to Nintendo. There were questions regarding its ownership after the official website changed its copyright, and PlatinumGames was no longer included.

One interesting subject discussed was Tornado, a spiritual successor planned as a 3D title and was initially pitched as a Nintendo-published project. Sadly, it was put on hold and never touched again so that Star Wars: Rogue Squadron could be ready for the GameCube’s launch.

Eggebrecht said:

There are a number of different activities at Super Nintendo World, including the Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge ride. The first video showing off the attraction has now emerged.
