It has been a while since the last new one, but Fire Emblem Heroes’ next Grand Hero Battle starts tomorrow. It’ll feature Arvis, who’s from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, just like Sigurd, Deirdre and Tailtiu from the recent summoning focus.

Update (10/16): In an interesting twist of fate, Atlus has released Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue on PC. It can be downloaded for free here until December 24.

Original (10/13): Atlus has released a rather interesting trailer for Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, which will be released in Japan on October 26 and next year in the rest of the world. The trailer initially shows off a Metroidvania-style game featuring Jack Frost and Pyro Jack. This is a callback to Jack Bros., an action game for the Virtual Boy featuring those characters. Sadly, this apparent sequel to Jack Bros. is quickly declared “fake” by the trailer, which then moves on to actual game footage. Give it a watch:

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

A new patch is now available for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, bringing the game up to version 1.2.400297. There are no patch notes so far, but it seems like the purpose of this update is to prepare the game for the upcoming DLC, which is actually being released very soon. The digital receipt you get when buying the season pass now lists October 17th as the release date for the first part of the DLC, the challenge maps. The second part of the DLC, which will bring new story content, has also gotten a concrete release date: January 16th, 2018.

This week, Splatoon 2 is getting not one, but two new weapons. The Custom E-liter 4K is identical to the regular E-liter 4K, except that it comes with the Squid Beakon sub-weapon and the Bubble Blower special. The Custom E-liter 4K Scope will also be added to the game. Just like the Scope version of the regular E-liter 4K, this one has a longer range, but can’t store a charged shot. It also comes with the Squid Beakon sub-weapon and the Bubble Blower special.

Both weapons will be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later in the evening today in North America.

More:

After a long wait, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns has finally been released in Europe. To celebrate the occasion, Nintendo has put together a launch trailer for the game. Check it out:

The support system, a staple of the Fire Emblem series, was recently added to Fire Emblem Heroes. Given the game’s nature, there are no actual support conversations between the characters; instead, the system’s purpose is to increase the stats of the characters. Today, the official Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter account revealed the 20 most popular support pairings that players were using as of September 29th.

Given the nature of the system, most of the characters on the list are those that are currently dominating the game’s meta and those that synergize well. However, some players clearly opted for more “canonical” support pairings such as Ephraim & Eirika, Ike & Soren and the #1 most popular pairing, Alphonse & Sharena.

Koei Tecmo has updated the official Attack on Titan 2 website, updating the section on the game’s characters and introducing the new Town Life feature. The character section doesn’t really reveal anything new, but feel free to check it out if you want to read official bios of Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Miche, Nanaba and Gelgar.

More interesting is the reveal of the Town Life feature. In between the game’s battles, you can spend time inside the safety of the walled city. There, you can spend time with the other characters to improve your relationships with them, tackle side quests and do some training to improve your fighting strength.
