Update: It took a few hours, but everything is now back up and running!

It seems like some of Nintendo’s online services are experiencing difficulties right now. Specifically, logging into games with your Nintendo Network ID doesn’t seem to work at the moment. Unfortunately, this means that games that require you to do that, such as Nintendo Badge Arcade, can’t be played at all at the moment.

Nintendo has acknowledged the problem on both their European and Japanese Twitter accounts, so it seems to be a global problem. They are hoping to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

Teyon have just published a trailer for their upcoming 3DS game Ocean Runner. The game will be released via the eShop on December 24th in Europe and on January 7th in North America.

Yo-kai Sangokushi is the latest Yo-kai Watch game, and it’s another spin-off / crossover title. Announced earlier this year, Level-5 revealed today that the crossover between Yo-kai Watch and Romance of the Three Kingdoms will be released for Nintendo 3DS in Japan in 2016.

All copies of the game will come with “Komasan Sun Ce” Military Commander Legendary Medal, while first-print copies will also include a “Komasan Sun Ce” figure strap.

Several new special stages have come to Pokemon Shuffle. First of all, a special Mewtwo commemorative stage has been added to the game. Previously, Mewtwo was only available in an Expert stage that required you to beat 150 regular stages with an S rank. In this special stage, which will be available until January 19th, items cost nothing, so Mewtwo shouldn’t be too hard to catch.

Next, Regigigas will be available until December 28th. You will have an easier time catching this Pokemon if you have Regirock, Registeel and Regice in your team.

Speaking of which, all three of those are making a return to the game. Regirock will be available until December 18th. It will be followed by Registeel and then Regice.

Finally, the Mega Garchomp competition makes a return. If you haven’t gotten a Garchompite the first time around, now’s your chance. The top 12,000 players in Europe, 18,000 in North America and 50,000 in Japan will receive a Garchompite. If you make it to the top 1,200 in Europe, 1,800 in North America or 5,000 in Japan, you will also receive a Mega Speedup. The top 20,000 in Europe, 30,000 in North America and 50,000 in Japan will receive an Attack Power Up. Everyone else who participates will receive a Disruption Delay. If you already have a Garchompite and place in the top spots, you will receive a Jewel instead.

Liam Robertson has once again uncovered something quite interesting. In a report published on NintendoLife, he writes that, according to one his sources, a free-to-play amiibo game is currently in the works. The developer for this is Nintendo Software Technology, who recently made Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars and in the past were responsible for games such as Metroid Prime Hunters and Wave Race: Blue Storm.

Apparently the game is planned for a US release in early 2016 – initially it would be free for anyone who owns a compatible amiibo, though this is apparently only a special promotion for the game’s launch. Once that promotion is over, customers will supposedly have to pay to play the game. Nintendo of Europe apparently plans to release the game later on in 2016 for free.

Additionally, Robertson states that, according to his source, there are plans for Nintendo Software Technology to become a mobile-only developer, presumably once development on the free-to-play amiibo game is finished. However, this is apparently only a proposal at the moment and not a final decision.

As always with reports like this, take them with a grain of salt – Liam Robertson has been quite accurate with his reports in the past, however there’s always the possibility of things falling through at the last minute or other internal developments leading to the project not being completed after all.
