Nintendo have published a new video in which the load times of the latest Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter X, are compared between the game running on a New Nintendo 3DS and a regular Nintendo 3DS. By this point, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to anybody that the New Nintendo 3DS can load the game quite a bit faster. Check out the video below:

A new update has gone live for the 3DS version of Pokemon Shuffle. First of all, the Mega Steelix competition has started, which will run until December 8th. Placing in the top 12,000 in Europe, 19,000 in North America or 50,000 in Japan will get you the coveted Steelixite. If you place in the top 2,300 in Europe, 3,800 in North America or 10,000 in Japan you will also receive a Mega Speedup. Placing in the top 16,000 in Europe, 27,000 in North America or 70,000 in Japan gets you an Attack Power Up and a Disruption Delay. Everyone else gets a jewel.

Also, Thundurus is now available as a special stage in both the 3DS and mobile versions until December 8th. You can only play this stage once each day, however you have an increasingly bigger chance to catch Thundurus each time.

Finally, the Mega Lucario competion has begun in the mobile version. The top 100,000 players worldwide will get a Lucarionite while the top 10,000 also get a Mega Speedup. If you already have a Lucarionite, you will get a Jewel instead. Everyone else who participates will get an Exp. Points *1.5 item.

In Japan, Nintendo’s new all-encompassing account feature, Nintendo Account, is now live. You can sign up for it here.

As promised, you can register using your existing Nintendo Network ID or your various social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter. European, Australian or North American NNIDs won’t work though – looks like we have to wait until the service officially launches in the West. Note, however, that this is not My Nintendo, the successor to Club Nintendo. That is scheduled to launch next year.

Until February 1st, there’s also a promotion where you get back 100 yen for every 1000 yen you spend on the Nintendo eShop.

Finally, Nintendo also updated its official Japanese website. Other than its new visual design, you can now also buy games there and have them downloaded directly to your Wii U or 3DS. They also launched a new blog called Topics where announcements will be made.

Xenoblade Chronicles X

All four Xenoblade Chronicles X data packs are now available on the European eShop. They are classified as downloadable content, so you can access them through the main eShop entry of Xenoblade Chronicles X. Downloading and installing them reduces load times and pop-ins in Xenoblade Chronicles X. The data packs are free.

Note that you only need them when you’re using the retail disc version of the game. They are already included in the game’s digital version.

We won’t get proper scans of this week’s issue of Famitsu until two days from now, however a preview image of this week’s issue published on Famitsu’s website revealed something interesting about Genei Ibunroku #FE, namely another party member and his Mirage.

famitsu preview december 3rd

His name is Ken Yashiro and he is a famous singer. We’ve actually seen brief glimpses of him before in some of the game’s trailers. His Mirage is the Swordsman Nabarl, who originally appeared in Marth’s games (both the NES versions and the DS remakes).

We will have more detailed info once we have the full Famitsu scans on Wednesday.
