Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi has died

Japan public broadcaster NHK is reporting that Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, has passed away. He was 60 years old.
NHK says that on June 6, Takahashi was discovered floating in shallow waters off the coast of Nago City, Okinawa Island by the Japan Coast Guard. It’s unclear what happened at present, but he was wearing snorkeling equipment when found.

Another Asterix & Obelix is inbound for Switch with Microids having now announced Asterix & Obelix XXXL: The Ram From Hibernia. It’ll be on Switch this fall.
The game will take players “on a journey through Hibernia for a series of memorable brawls where no dirty tricks will be barred… including smashing your enemies with a barrel”. It’ll be possible to play alone or with up to four players in co-op.
Monster Hunter Rise gets Elgado Packs with items for new sales milestone

Capcom is celebrating the latest sales milestone for Monster Hunter Rise with two new item packs – specifically the Elgado Packs.
With the first one, players will receive 10 ancient potions, 20 dango tickets, 20 dash juices, 5 heavy armor spheres and 5 silver eggs. The second one contains 50 mega potions, 30 well-done steaks, 20 large barrel bombs, 10 mega demondrugs and 10 mega armorskins.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series has started to release on Switch, and Bandai Namco has issued a new launch trailer. This shows off both titles in the collection, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness systems trailer, Riko Azuna performing ending song

Spike Chunsoft is continuing its promotional efforts for Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness, and has now prepared a new trailer highlighting the game’s systems, including how to descend into the Abyss and progress through the story. Additionally, it’s been announced that ending song “light” is performed by Riko Azuna. Rei Tanaka composed the music piece while MANYO handled the arrangement.
Riko Azuna is also handling the opening theme song for the TV anime Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, which begins airing in Japan in July 2022. “light” will be released as a B-side on the opening theme song CD single.
Cold Stone offering new Nintendo desserts for Kirby, Animal Crossing, and Mario Party

A new wave of Nintendo desserts are now available at Cold Stone based on Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Mario Party Superstars. They’re the Mighty Pink Puff, Island Getaway, and Superstar Sprinkle Blast respectively. All of this comes as part of the “Dream Team of Nintendo Creations”.
With the Mighty Pink Puff, you’ll be getting strawberry ice cream, strawberries, mini marshmallows, and caramel. The Island Getaway has chocolate ice cream, strawberries, banana, and whipped topping. Lastly, the Superstar Sprinkle Blast is comprised of cake batter ice cream, yellow cake, blue frosting, and rainbow sprinkles. We have a look at each one above.

Action Arcade Wrestling has just received a new “Reigning and Defending” update on Switch. This follows the game’s original launch back in February.
Once the update is installed, players can create their own wrestling federations with customizable championship belts that can be won or lost to any wrestler on the roster.
Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising announced for Switch
