Spellbreak

Spellbreak launched on all major platforms this week, including Switch. See how the Switch version compares to the PS4 edition with the video below.

Spellbreak is available for Switch as a free-to-play game on the eShop.

Windbound

Windbound recently released on Switch, but the game has now received a new developer diary. Composer Zander Hulmes has given “the inside scoop” on creating the music.

Nintendo eShop

As is weekly tradition, we have a look at Nintendo’s upcoming maintenance schedule. Only one session is officially confirmed, with eShop downtime planned for September 14 / September 15.

Fire Emblem Heroes is gearing up for its next summoning event. To Stay Dreaming will feature Special Heroes dressed in elegant dancewear, including Lachesis, Ethlyn, Quan, and Sigurd. A new Paralogue Story is also planned.

Nintendo dropped another Nintendo Direct on us a few days ago. It’s been all about third-parties over the summer, but not this week. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario, fans were treated to all sorts of news and announcements.

There were obviously a few key highlights. Super Mario 3D All-Stars was finally confirmed, bringing Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy to Switch. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, a port of the Wii U title with new content and features, was also revealed. We also heard about Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, Super Mario Bros. 35, and Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. for the first time. Oh, and the original Super Mario All-Stars dropped on Nintendo Switch Online. There was other news that you can catch up on in the announcement recap here.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

During CEDEC 2020 this week, the team behind Animal Crossing: New Horizons held a special developer session. Information was shared regarding the creation of the game’s villagers. As part of that, we have a look at some of the styles that were experimented with above.
