The first reviews for Animal Crossing: New Horizons are just now starting to drop. We’ve rounded up a number of the early verdicts below.

Nintendo will host a new Indie World Showcase tomorrow, March 17, the company has announced. It will feature “roughly 20 minutes of info on indie games” for Switch.

With major events like GDC and E3 having either been postponed or outright cancelled, all eyes are now on Gamescom. The show has the luxury of taking place much later in the year with a late August event planned, but it’s unclear what state the world will be in from the coronavirus.

On Twitter today, Gamescom provided an official update. Things continue to proceed at planned, but it was stated that organizers will “follow the recommendations of the responsible authorities regarding major events, evaluate them on a daily basis, and make our decisions after careful consideration.”

Publisher Eastasiasoft and developer Panda Indie Studio have announced that Red Death, a vertical bullet hell shoot ’em up, is making its way to Switch this week. The game’s launch is scheduled for March 19.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is in the top five while Animal Crossing: New Horizons receives over 1,000 votes.

New sales data is in from the UK for the month of February 2020.

Switch was the best-selling console of the month, with the console’s neon version performing the best. However, GamesIndustry points out that the system’s sales are flat year-on-year. If we’re only looking at physical software sales, Nintendo would place first with a 19.6 percent share. The Dark Samus amiibo was also the most successful toys-to-life product.
