The adventure-platformer Sir Eatsalot will release on Switch this week, developer Behind the Stones has announced. It’ll be out on the eShop as of January 9.

A new update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available. Version 6.1.1 is live, which implements support for the Dark Samus and Richter amiibo.

You’ll need today’s update in order to access the online mode. Replay data works with version 6.1.0, but not version 6.0.0 and earlier.

Nintendo has lined up another tournament event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This week, amiibo are getting the focus and are actually needed to participate. FP (figure players) are involved.

The new tournament goes live on January 10. Look for it to last a total of three days.

The latest episode of Nintendo’s Japanese show Nyannyan Neko Mario Time has now gone live. We’ve included it below.

Nintendo was expected to kick off 2020 with a Nintendo Direct, but perhaps not one specifically focused on Pokemon. Yet that’s what we’re getting on Thursday. Nintendo has been coy on what exactly we’ll be seeing, though we may have a better idea about plans for the presentation.

A German press release for this week’s Pokemon Direct mentions Pokemon Sword/Shield in its headline. Specifically, the broadcast will apparently have new details regarding those Switch games.

The new Pokemon Direct airs on January 9. If Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are present, they probably won’t be the only games discussed.
