Star Ocean: First Departure R reveals Nintendo Switch physical release

Square Enix and Limited Run Games are teaming up for a physical release of Star Ocean First Departure R on Nintendo Switch, they’ve announced.
Plans are in the works for a standard copy, Steelbook Bundle Edition, and Ultimate Edition. The Steelbook Bundle Edition comes with a steelbook (naturally) as well as a slipcase and double-sided poster. The Ultimate Edition contains these same items as well as a soundtrack CD, standees, 3D display cube, enamel pin, poster, and certificate of authenticity.
SEGA and Atlus unveil TGS 2025 lineup

SEGA and Atlus today unveiled their combined lineup for the 2025 Tokyo Game Show.
On the Nintendo front, we’ll be seeing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, and Persona 3 Reload. Other titles appearing include Football Manager 26, The Phantom X, and SEGA Football Club Champions 2025. Four unspecified titles have been teased as well.
UFO 50 update out now on Nintendo Switch, patch notes

If you bought the recent Nintendo Switch version of UFO 50, you can now download an update for the game. Version 1.7.8.30 has gone live.
Following feedback, the home menu icon has been updated. A pixel perfect scaling option and button swapping have also been added in.

Hollow Knight: Silksong update announced, patch notes

Hollow Knight: Silksong has only been out for a few days, but the game’s first update has already been announced with version 1.0.28470. It should be out soon on Nintendo’s consoles.
Notably, adjustments will be included here. One upcoming change involves nerfing a couple of early game bosses to turn down the difficulty. Other adjustments and fixes are included as well.

Former Nintendo localization manager reveals origins of Princess Peach’s Toadstool name

Leslie Swan, a former localization manager at Nintendo of America who spent nearly three decades at the company, has spoken about how Princess Peach’s “Toadstool” name came to be.
In the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros., the character was simply known as Princess Peach. However, for the U.S. version, it changed to Princess Toadstool. It turns out that this happened due to the ad agency coming up with the name on its own.

Star Wars Outlaws gets first Nintendo Switch 2 update, patch notes – performance improvements and more

Just a few days after launch, Ubisoft has already come out with the first update for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws.
Various enhancements and fixes are included. Players will find clearer visuals when moving quickly through the world or using binoculars, user interface updates and performance improvements.

Old School Rally will have a Nintendo Switch physical release

Old School Rally was previously announced for Nintendo Switch, but we’re now hearing that a physical release is in the cards as well. Meridiem will be bringing it out on December 4, 2025.
Although it’s said to be a special edition, this is largely a standard release. As a bonus though, a set of car cards will be included.

Ratalaika Games, along with Man-Eater Games, are gearing up for the debut of Monstrous Lovers on Nintendo Switch. It will be available this Friday, September 12.
