Included with the latest issue of Nintendo Dream is a small booklet recapping all of Switch’s releases last year. It also gives a small look at what’s to come in 2018.

The book also confirms four more classics from Hamster. This month, we should be able to expect the following:

ACA NeoGeo King of the Monsters – January 4
Arcade Archives Crazy Climber – January 11
ACA NeoGeo Art of Fighting 2 – January 11
ACA NeoGeo Power Spikes – January 18

Another Hamster game we could be seeing this month is Double Dragon. That was originally supposed to launch in December, but was delayed at the last minute.

2018 will be featuring a yearlong parade of Legendary Pokemon. Dialga and Palkia are getting things started this month. To celebrate, Game Freak developers Shigeki Morimoto, Kazumasa Iwao, and Shigeru Ohmori were interviewed to discuss their inspiration for these two Pokemon. Check out the full interview below.

In North America, the only way to nab the Neon Pink / Neon Green Joy-Con is by purchasing the Splatoon 2 Switch bundle. That could be changing soon.

EB Games Canada’s internal inventory system is listing a standalone release of the Neon Pink / Neon Green Joy-Con for January 5. It’ll be priced at $99.99 ($79.99 USD), the same as other Joy-Con. Technically this date isn’t officially confirmed, so we’ll let you know if anything changes.

New data from Chart-Track reveals the top five best-selling Switch games of 2017. The results are as follows:

1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
2. Super Mario Odyssey
3. Zelda: Breath of the Wild
4. 1-2 Switch
5. Splatoon 2

One interesting fact: the top three games have all sold over 300,000 copies. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle also just missed out on reaching the top five. FIFA 18 apparently places at #7. Additionally, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe just managed to outsell Super Mario Odyssey.

Earlier today, Financial Times reported that Pokemon GO will debut in China thanks to a partnership with NetEase. The publication quoted Niantic CEO John Hanke as having said the company “absolutely intends to bring our existing games into China.” Hanke also apparently stated that China has opportunities to build games for both Chinese and foreign developers.

But not so fast. Global Times reached out to NetEase, who denied any imminent plans to help bring Pokemon GO to China. NetEase further added that no interviewees shared any information about Pokemon GO’s potential debut in the region.

The situation is somewhat unclear at present. At the very least though, NetEase does not appear to be involved with bringing Pokemon GO to China.

Brawlout has reached a major milestone on Switch. As announced by Angry Mob Games on Twitter, the game has surpassed 50,000 players on Switch. That was done in the game’s first two weeks.
