One of the features NBA 2K18 has added in recent years is face simulation technology. By using a mobile app, players can bring their visual appearance into the game.

Switch owners will have access to the functionality… just not at launch. 2K wrote on its official forums that the feature will be patched in “through subsequent updates”. A specific date was not mentioned.

Last month, Shin’en teased a new 1.3 “Remix Update” for FAST RMX. The studio will be releasing six new tracks and two new cups entirely for free.

In preparation for what’s to come, Shin’en created a news channel for Switch owners. A notice just sent out to those who are subscribed states that the update is landing on September 13. The North American message doesn’t have a time, but the European version states it will be at 4 PM in the UK / 5 PM in Europe.

In an interview with Destructoid talking about Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, director Suda51 had many positive things to say about Switch. Translator James Mountain relayed the following:

“He feels that the Switch has a lot of possibilities as a console. There’s a lot of new things it’s trying out as a piece of hardware. There’s a lot of things he’d be able to do by putting the game on the Switch that he wouldn’t be able to do putting it on another console. So far, everyone’s been really supportive for him. The console itself is fun and easy to develop for. And as far as the type of game this is and the way controls are going to work out, it’s a perfect fit.”

Suda51 will be using the Switch Joy-Con in a number of ways in Travis Strikes Again. The method of charging the beam katana from the original No More Heroes games will be returning, and you’ll be able to play with a single controller. Suda51 intends to bring back features from the old games and potentially implement some new ones.

Two Virtual Console games are releasing for Wii U in North America this week. According to Nintendo’s website, Detana Twin Bee and China Warrior will be out tomorrow.

Here’s an overview of Detana Twin Bee:

Here come Twinbee and Winbee on a mission to save the planet from evil alien invaders! Standing in their way are six stages full of goofy enemies! Play as Twinbee in one-player mode, or team up with Winbee in two-player-cooperative mode. With powerful attacks like Big Shot, or Twin Attack and Burst Attack in two-player mode, there’s plenty of sting in their arsenal! Use your Shot to transform Bells that appear in stages into items with various effects. Stock up on these bad boys to expand your attack range and really have a blast!

And China Warrior:

It’s up to the kung-fu master Wang to defeat the Dark Emperor, who stands at the top of the kung-fu world in China. Punch, kick, and jump kick your way through all the enemies in the path between you and the three bosses of each stage. Skillfully fight your way through all 4 stages. Be sure not to miss recovery items while dodging enemy attacks! One-on-one fights against the game’s realistic bosses will get you so excited that you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of a kung-fu movie!

Detana Twin Bee and China Warrior will be priced at $5.99 each.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a couple of weeks away from launching on Switch in the west, but it arrived in Japan earlier today. That means footage is starting to hit the net, including the video below with 38 minutes of gameplay.

PowerA has two new specially-designed controllers lined up for Switch. Next month, the new hardware with Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario designs will be released.

Both controllers have been officially licensed by Nintendo. They feature six interchangeable analog caps for custom control, soft-touch rubber grips for added comfort, and a 10-foot removable USB cable.

The two controllers should be out on October 23. Amazon has the Zelda one up for pre-order here, and the Mario edition here.

Earlier this year, Bigben and Breakpoint announced Tennis World Tour. Platforms were mostly a mystery at the time, but Bigben has now confirmed that the game is coming to Switch.

Tennis World Tour is intended to be a spiritual successor of sorts to the Top Spin franchise. Pierre André, who was a producer on Top Spin 4, is working on the project.

Details are mostly unknown at the moment. We do know that 30 playable tennis stars will be included, such as Roger Federer, Gaël Monfils, Angelique Kerber, Garbiñe Muguruza, Carolin Wozniacki, Nick Kyrgios, Alexander Zverev, and John Isner.

Tennis World Tour is heading to Switch in 2018.

Over the past few weeks, qualifiers have been held for the Nintendo World Championships 2017 leading up to the big tournament next month. Various events have been held in partnership with Best Buy to determine who would be making it to the finals.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Irma is approaching, and it may have a huge impact on the Miami area. Due to this, Nintendo has postponed the full weekend of events originally planned for September 9 and September 10. It’s unclear if and when a makeup event will take place.

Nintendo’s full statement reads:

“Due to the serious threat posed by Hurricane Irma, Nintendo and Best Buy are postponing the Sept. 9-10 Miami qualifying round for the Nintendo World Championships 2017. We will continue to monitor the situation in Florida to determine whether a makeup event will be scheduled.”
