Indie developers talk about what they want to see from NX

Nintendo first made the NX known last year. Little information has been shared about the system since, though we do know it’s due out in March 2017. Everyone is anxiously awaiting to see what Nintendo has in store because of the lack of details surrounding the system – including many developers.
GamesTM spoke with a few indies in its latest issue for a chat about the NX. The magazine caught up with Black Forest Games co-founder Adrian Goersch, DrinkBox co-founder and CEO Graham Smith, CTO Rebellion co-founder Chris Kingsley, and Zen Studios VP of publishing Mel Kirk.
GamesTM first started out by asking each developer about how they’d like NX to improve upon Wii U as a platform to make games on. Each of them responded with the following:
The Wii U was actually a great platform to develop on. With Guacamelee, having the second screen on the GamePad was a perfect place to put the game’s mini-map, and made the game a great fit for the platform. Having the ability to play games right on the controller itself was an amazing feature for times when someone else in the household was making use of the television. While this was never a problem for Drinkbox, I believe that the limited power of the system made it difficult for some third parties to bring their games from PS4/Xbox One to the Wii U, causing the system to have less than ideal third-party support. – Smith

Nintendo and Vans will soon be bringing out several sneakers as part of a new partnership. The shoebox for the footwear has now appeared, which we’ve posted above. It’s looking very stylish!

One of the bigger news stories from the past week came from Tatsumi Kimishima’s new interview with Asahi. While talking with the publication, Kimishima revealed some pretty big plans for the company’s pursuit of movies. Nintendo is really looking to get into this entertainment field and hopes to produce something within the next few years.
Aside from that, there’s not too much to go on. Kimishima did indicate that Nintendo is more interested in animation than live-action at this point. He also suggested that they could work with partners.

Amazon: Save $21 on Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

Original (5/13): Amazon has The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on sale. The price may fluctuate slightly, but it’s down to $42.54 at the moment. Along with the game, a Wolf Link amiibo figure is included.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition started out in Fall 2014, fans should be vocal about Nintendo collabs they want to see

Minecraft: Wii U Edition came to Wii U last December. As it turns out, the project was green-lit a year prior – Fall 2014. All sides then worked together to get the game ready for launch.
Earlier this week, Minecraft: Wii U Edition received a Nintendo collaboration with the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack. Nintendo’s Damon Baker told IGN, “This is the most IP integration in a third-party game that I can remember.”
As far as the future goes, Baker didn’t have any news to share regarding future collaborations in Minecraft. But he did mention that fans should be vocal about what they want to see next.

Pre-order Monster Hunter Generations at GameStop, get a 3DS theme

1. Cross Drop
When you remove drops in a combo of seven or more, a sparkling Cross Drop will appear on-screen. If you remove this drop, it will trigger a Cross Attack which deals more damage to enemy than usual.
