Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 was the top seller in Japan this past week. Between March 24 and March 27, the game sold 368,665 copies. As usual, Media Create has now followed up with some additional information.

Based on Media Create’s data, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 sold through 59.16 percent of its initial shipment. The previous game in the series, Dragon Quest Monsters 2’s 3DS remake, sold 444,000 units with a 78.65 percent sell-through. Media Create points out that Joker 3 lacked in both numbers and sellthrough rate, making it look like a sluggish turnout in comparison.

More footage has surfaced of two new Wii U eShop games in Europe: Tachyon Project and Chompy Chomp Chomp Party. Check out the latest gameplay below.

Super Mario Maker’s newest Event Course and costume are live. Once you complete the “Starfy: Prince of Pufftop” level, you’ll unlock an outfit based on the character.

Here’s the Event Course description:

The legendary Starfy has discovered a mysterious lift in Pufftop Palace, his royal home in the skies, and riding it has landed him in the world of Super Mario Maker. “This is freakin’ me out… I wanna go home!’ Can our hero avoid the aquatic baddies and reach his goal safely? Go, Starfy, go!

And here’s a playthough of the level:

A new trailer has come online for Angry Video Game Nerd II, which is slated for Nintendo platforms. You can take a look at the new video below.

Based on a report from market-tracking firm Sensor Tower (as relayed by GamesBeat), Miitomo is currently the most-downloaded game for iPhone and iPad in the United States. Even though it’s a free download, it’s an impressive feat for a title that only just launched today.

With its initial success, Sensor Tower believes that Miitomo could surpass 200,000 downloads on the iPhone alone after 24 hours given averages for past apps that have topped the charts. Another 20,000 downloads would likely stem from the iPad. Of course, this doesn’t account for how Miitomo has done on Android.

SEGA acquired Atlus back in 2013. That process is still ongoing, but is now starting to wrap up. Going forward, SEGA will be publishing all Atlus USA games as a means to streamline its business operations.

The good news is that this news will have little impact on consumers. SEGA isn’t ditching the Atlus brand, and Atlus will still act independently.

SEGA provided Game Informer with the following comment regarding how the Atlus acquisition has benefited the company:

“Since Atlus U.S.A.—renowned for the award-winning Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Etrian Odyssey franchises—integrated with SEGA of America, the ATLUS expertise has allowed SEGA to localize and publish popular Japanese titles in the west, including the Yakuza series, Project DIVA series, and more.”

In other news, Ivo Gerscovich has been named as the new head of the Sonic brand and its related businesses in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. He’ll serve as the Sonic chief brand officer and senior vice president of SEGA of America.
