Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins + Training was added to the North American eShop earlier tonight. On top of that, Wii U owners can now download the Star Fox Guard Special Demo. It weighs in at 1383MB. A small update file is also included.

The demo includes a few different levels to play through, straight from the introduction. Save data can be carried over to the full version.

The Star Fox Guard Special Demo won’t show up by searching in the eShop. You’ll need to visit a special section of the eShop by selecting a specific category on the splash screen.

Thanks to CrossForte for the tip.

Pokemon Ranger is arriving on the North American Wii U eShop tomorrow, Nintendo’s website reveals. It will cost $9.99.

Nintendo’s website provides the following overview:

In the Fiore Region there are those sworn to serve people, Pokémon, and nature–the Pokémon Rangers. In their frequently challenging line of work, the Rangers rely on their Capture Stylers–special devices that only they are allowed to use. Using their Catupture Stylers, the Rangers borrow the abilities of Pokémon to uphold Fiore’s peace. But look out for the Go-Rock Squad–they want to use Pokémon for a more sinister purpose, and it’s up to the Pokémon Rangers to help stop them. It’s an adventure that gets you into the Pokémon action like never before!

Nintendo recently said that it would be bringing more Pokemon games to the Virtual Console this summer. On June 23, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Sky came to Wii U.

Last week, Nintendo brought “Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins + Training” to the European Wii U eShop. The download features the recent animated short as well as a demo of Star Fox Zero.

We’re happy to report that Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins + Training is now available on the North American Wii U eShop as well. It’s free, so there’s no harm in nabbing it – unless you’re worried about space. The download takes up 1,677MB.

Here’s an overview of Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins + Training from the Wii U eShop:

“In this demo, enjoy the full Animated Short Movie – Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins, then jump into training to prepare for combat! In this white-knuckle space shooter, it’ll take more than luck to master the Arwing jet, the Gyrowing flight drone, and the Landmaster tank!”

Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins + Training doesn’t appear to be easily accessible – you’ll need to search for it.

Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO may have gotten a (small) update today, but it didn’t fix one of the game’s biggest problems. Many users are unable to connect to the app currently. And when that happens, Pokemon GO is basically dead – there’s not much you can do when you can’t connect to the servers.

All that can be done is to wait for Niantic to improve the situation. Japan is supposed to be getting Pokemon GO soon, so that may add to the server load. Once things settle down, hopefully Niantic can turn its attention to the servers.
