Grasshopper Manufacture made Killer7 for the GameCube and PlayStation 2 in partnership with Capcom over a decade ago. Goichi Suda, known for his work on projects like No More Heroes, directed the game. Now he’s interested in seeing it return.

Speaking with Hardcore Gamer, Suda51 said:

Basically, you are staying faithful to the vision so that new audiences can see it as intended. That’s exciting. Are there any other old works that you have done that you are hoping to revisit, to give this type of remastering treatment?
I feel that Killer 7 is the hardest of my games to play. I want to and feel that I need to do something about that. A remake, or remaster or something like that… (Sly grin.)

When you think about it, September is a busy month for games. We’ve already received the new Ace Attorney, Picross 3D: Round 2, Axiom Verge, and Jotun. Over the next few weeks, we can also expect Dragon Quest VII, Yo-kai Watch 2, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, Severed, and Noitu Love: Devolution.

So what’s everyone been playing lately? Maybe you’ve just picked up Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice? Or maybe you’re giving one of the new indie games a try. Maybe you’re holding out until more of September’s big games show up! Regardless, let us know in the comments below.

Miitomo – new Miitomo Drop stage (9/11/16)

Miitomo has been updated with new content once again. Players can nab some new items in the latest Miitomo Drop stage, “The show must go on! Miitomo Concert #2”.

Available items include:

– Melody tee
– Orchestra jacket
– Orchestra shorts
– Rhythmic tights

Users can select Miitomo Drop stages from the Shop tab. Miitomo coins or game tickets are needed to play.

Famitsu’s most wanted games (9/11/16)

It’s time for the latest Famitsu‘s most wanted games chart! Dragon Quest XI and Pokemon Sun/Moon are in the top five, with games like Monster Hunter Stories and Zelda: Breath of the Wild also on the list.

Pokemon GO Easter egg allows Pikachu to stay on your shoulder

Pokemon GO has a new update. iOS users will have access to version 1.7.0 very soon, while it’s version 0.37.0 on Android.

The update adds the new Buddy Pokemon feature. And within it, fans have already discovered a new Easter egg. If you walk 10km, he’ll hop up on your shoulder when viewing your trainer details. Pikachu normally appears on the ground.

Why Japan’s prime minister lacked Mario’s mustache during the Rio 2016 Olympics closing ceremony

The closing ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympics had a rather big tie-in to Nintendo. Mario was shown in a video clip, and Japan’s prime minister Shinzo Abe came out of a Warp Pipe dressed as Mario to ring in the next event in Tokyo.

Abe’s “cosplay” was received favorably. Heck, even the G20 leaders were praising him for it. However, some wondered why his outfit did not include Mario’s famous mustache.
