General Nintendo

For many, may years, Game Freak has been strongly attached to the Pokemon franchise. However, we’ve seen the studio branch out as of late with the likes of HarmoKnight, Pocket Card, Jockey, and Giga Wrecker Alt.

Giga Wrecker Alt. stems from a second production team at Game Freak that works on original titles. And according to programmer and director Masayuki Onoue, the Gear Project team is being prioritized – even “more than Pokemon in general.”

Nintendo’s E3 2019 activities essentially start on June 8. Three separate tournaments will be held on that day – one for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, another for Splatoon 2, and a final one for Super Mario Maker 2.

The great thing about these tournaments is that Nintendo is allowing fans to stop by and catch all of the action in-person. Of course, those who can’t attend will be able to watch the events online as well.

Here’s some additional information for those who plan on attending the tournaments, along with an FAQ:

Snack World

Level-5 has provided an official update regarding the status of Snack World in the west. The franchise will debut in the west next year, the company announced today.

Here’s the official blurb from Level-5:

Were you hoping to see Armored Mewtwo outside of Pokemon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution? As it turns out, that won’t be happening.

This month’s issue of CoroCoro states that this appearance of Mewtwo is exclusive to the upcoming film. It will be represented through merchandise and other promotional elements for the movie as well. In other words, it sounds like Armored Mewtwo won’t be appearing in any upcoming games such as Pokemon Sword/Shield.

Other than that, CoroCoro says that Armored Mewtwo is designed to suppress Mewtwo’s strength similar to the armor in the original movie.
