Several Level-5 trademarks have popped up in the European trademark database. The new items include
Lady Layton, Inazuma Eleven Ares, Megaton Musashi, Otme Hero, Yo-kai Daijiten, and Yo-kai Watch Geraporhythm.
Level-5 Vision will be taking place later this week, where several announcements will be made. It’s unclear how many of these trademarks will materialize into reveals. We also don’t know how many will be related to Nintendo platforms. At the very least, we’ll hear more about Snack World, which was previously confirmed for 3DS.
Take-Two are “believers” in Nintendo, feeling “pretty enthusiastic” about NX
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Switch | 33 Comments
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, has once again weighed in on NX. When asked about Nintendo’s upcoming hardware, Zelnick shared the following:
“We’re believers. We never want to count Nintendo out. They do it over and over and over again. So we feel pretty enthusiastic actually.”
Zelnick also commented on Nintendo’s position n the console race. On that topic, he had this to say:
“It’s not a slump, it’s intentional. They come to market, they do really well, and then they sort of exit the market for a period of time. They’ve been doing it for like 150 years, and that company has been doing the same thing… They’re really thoughtful, they come to market with something they really think is going to work, more often than not it really works, it blows up and then eventually they let it decline and they move on to the next thing. They don’t mind having time in between.”
We heard similar comments from Zelnick last month, as he said Take-Two is “very interested” in NX.

Prima bringing out “Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics” in November
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 5 Comments
Update (7/25): Now $17.14 off on Amazon. $20.65 off on Amazon Canada.
Original (7/22): Prima has generally been associated with game guides, but they’re now preparing something that’s a bit different. On November 18, Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics will be available.
Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics offers a retrospective on 17 NES classics, including Super Mario Bros. 3, Donkey Kong, and The Legend of Zelda. It also includes interviews as well as commentary “from Nintendo visionaries who pioneered this era of gaming”. And if that wasn’t enough, Prima is packing in hand-drawn maps, character and game environment art, advertisements and excerpts from Nintendo Power’s old issues, and more. It’s all brought together with an “exclusive embossed slipcase” that “holds this hardcover tome in a clever package that resembles a classic NES Game Pak”.
Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics is actually already available for pre-order. Get it on Amazon US, Amazon Canada, or Amazon UK.

Our first real look at Medicom’s new Link figure from Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Images | 3 Comments
Last month, it was revealed that Medicom will be bringing out a new Link figure based on his appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The 1/6 scale piece is part of the Real Action Heroes series.
We now have some actual photos of the figure from Dengeki Hobby. See some photos below.
The new Link figure features detailed accessories (a bow, quiver full of regular arrows, one of the special arrows shown in first trailer, a sword, shield, a hooded cloak, and the Sheikah Slate) and interchangeable hands and heads that can be used to customize his appearance. Additionally, two heads can be switched out so that Link’s appearance changes to a shout. While the figure itself (the head in particular) is made of PVC, though the clothes are made from cloth.
It’s not yet known when the figure will be available. Expect it to cost 30,240 yen (roughly $285 USD) upon release.

Monopoly: Pokemon Kanto Edition came out a couple of years ago. Now USAopoly is working on another Pokemon set, this time for Johto.
You’ll find the following inside:
In this special Pokémon Johto Edition of Monopoly, players will travel through all eight Gyms and battle Gym leader Pokémon. Trainer Battle and Professor Elm cards might reward you for Pokémon encounters, or bring an unexpected surprise as players join Pikachu and friends on an adventure through the Johto region.
Monopoly: Pokemon Johto Edition contains six collectible tokens comprised of Totodile, Togepi, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Pichu and Pikachu. It also features a custom designed game board based on the Johto region, renames for Hotels, the Community Chest, and Chance Cards (to PokeMarts, Pokemon Centers, and Chance Cards respectively), plus custom themed Monopoly money.
Here are some photos:
When Pokemon Monopoly: Johto Edition is actually releasing is a bit unclear. BigBadToyStore estimates that it’s coming in August. It seems to be in stock on Amazon at the moment, but only from third-party sellers. It should be made available at more retailers soon in any case.
