The Entertainment Software Association has provided an update on E3 2022, confirming that the show will once again be digital-only.

Given how the coronavirus pandemic is still very much a serious issue, today’s news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. However, there are some shows such as CES 2022 that have gone forward with an in-person event despite the Omicron variant that has very much contributed to an uptick in cases as of late.

The ESA said in a statement to GamesBeat:

LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone set

Following last week’s leak, the LEGO Group has set a release date for the new LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone set, which was conceived by 24-year-old, UK based LEGO superfan Viv Grannell through the LEGO Ideas platform. Fans will be able to pick up the product starting on January 1, 2022.

LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone has 1,125 pieces, including five minifigures. It features an updated version of Sonic, Crabmeat, Moto Bug, Dr. Eggman, and the Phantom Ruby. Buyers will also receive ten boxes of golden-colored Rings and a Technic lever to spring Sonic and friends into the air. Additionally, you can earn a gem reward as you build the set.

PageBoy

A new Nintendo discovery has been made thanks to Liam Robertson from DidYouKnowGaming?, with the Game Boy Color add-on PageBoy having come to light more than two decades after it was scrapped.

The origins actually go back to another cancelled peripheral known as the WorkBoy, which came from English studio Source Research and Development. This would have been a productivity add-on, but it also never came to be. Its inventor, Eddie Gil, then gave things another shot with the PageBoy.

2022 is almost here, so let’s take a moment to reflect on the coming year – especially concerning Nintendo.

We’re actually in a much different place this time around compared to the start of 2021. We really didn’t have a good idea as to what Nintendo was planning for the year in terms of Switch releases. A few games were known entities, but a lot hadn’t been revealed until the year started moving along.
